BM does your new dh's neck hurt today? A mini-victory filled with pettiness and vanity on my part.
So against my better judgement and not having any believable excuses not to go I attended one of ss's athletic events last night. Of course, evil stink wagon and manboobs were there to cheer him on. DH practically begged me, no actually he did beg me(whining was involved) to go. So I, being the benevolent and generous human being I am, went. We were on the sidelines as I felt a cold wind whip behind me, followed by the crying of small children, and the sun darkening in the sky as the gruesome twosome approached from the rear. Manboobs actually spoke to dh in a cordial manner. I did not turn around to acknowledge their presence. BM simply attempted to bore a hole in my skull with her "death" stare. They slithered past us and took up a spot about 25 feet from us but still in direct eyeline if they looked back. I began to notice that every couple of minutes manboobs would turn his neck back and stare at us. At first I thought he was looking at dh, but as dh walked up and down the field, it became apparent the only person he was looking at was me. This happened the entire game, every two minutes. Even dh noticed from the other end of the field and came skipping over to whisper in my ear how entertaining it was. At one point I actually saw horseface become agitated and elbow manboobs, so as to get his attention, since he was again looking back. At this point I could 1) no longer contain my laughter and 2) felt slightly creeped out by this dude so I had to move. I moved behind another group of parents where I was blocked from their view but could still see the game. Needless to say, dh had a HUGE smile on his face the entire ride home. I almost think he is gloating more about this than I did. So small victory and petty I know, but damn it's the little things in life that keep me going.
