DH and I thought it would be the best idea for us to casually get SD to show us photos on her phone and then ask her what the wall mounted camera looking object was on the wall. This week DH told SD about our Ring doorbell and casually asked if they have cameras in their house and SD said at their front and back door, but that was it. Gently asked if there were any in the rooms in the house and SD said no because of privacy. 

So today, we gave SD some time on her phone at her desk while I braided her hair so it was supervised phone time and she sits more still with it. Then after, I asked if she had photos of her kittens so she showed me all the photos on her phone. She got to the photos that show that wall mounted object in her room and I asked SD what it was. SD said oh it puts stars around the room because that is what my sister likes. So low and behold, I googled it and found exactly what was in the photo.

DH and I are relieved after talking to the lawyer that before calling CPS we MADE sure what it was or wasn't beforehand. Also, SD's sister texted SD again today, SD saw the text and said "I don't feel like texting." LOL. So now there are two times we gave SD her phone, BM can see that on her nanny tracking phone app, but SD had no interest in talking to her sister or BM. 

Just glad we did not stir the pot calling CPS over a constellation projector. It looks just like a security camera mounted on the wall.
