Things SO said/did this weekend that make me scratch my head

In the car with SO and SS9. SS is telling about a few new books he read recently. Kid loves to read. Kid is also failing right now.

Me: SS if you bring up all your F's and D's on your next midterm report, I'll take you to the book store and let you pick out any book you want.
SS: Really! Any Book!---He was really excited
SO: Well if you bring up all your grades, I'll let your play Call of Duty on the computer

Has anyone seen this?

I especially liked this

“Divorce is a one-time event. Divorce is a noun. We should not think of ‘divorced’ as an adjective to describe families and/or children for their entire lives.”

and this

"Ask a psychotherapist how many patients from intact families had happy childhoods. Marriage is no protection against dysfunction."

Not in a good place with SO right now...BM just won't stop her shit

BM text SO yesterday morning wanting another favor.

It never ends with this witch

Little backstory....I was out of town because of work this summer for 6 wks. When I got back SO left to go on vacation. This is a vacation that his parents do every year and since SO and I got together we have been going with them. SO and I knew I would be going out of town for work for over a year and of course, knew I would be getting back right when the family vacation was planned.

SO lives in la la land....He really needs to visit this site.

Last night SO and I were zoning out on our tablets. He was lamenting about Skid report cards and bitching about BM.

Me: You know it will never end with BM right?
SO: What do you mean
Me: Think about it. They turn 18 then what happens....HS Graduation, Weddings, Gkids, Gkids B Days, Holiday's with GKids.
SO: >crickets<

The look on his face was so sad. I felt bad for saying it.

Well the report cards are in and it isn't pretty

SS

D C F F B

His grades should really be F F F F B, but for some reason the teacher has decided to give him 59% on all missing assignments of which he currently has 10. I can't believe that's even legal. Unfortunately, it seems the school is just trying to push him through to get rid of him.

OMFG With the Cell Phone

Ninji's picture

SO bought SD another cell phone about a month ago. (She lost the first one last year)

It has been nothing but drama since then.

I got upset because they were calling 4-5-6x's a night and texting that's not counting the times they were calling in the morning before school and after school before I picked SO up from work. Ridiculous. When I mentioned it to SO, he got mad and said he'll talk to his kids as much as he wants.

OT-How old where you when you first started working

Ninji's picture

I was in 8th grade when I first started working. I worked in my Aunts pet store, cleaning cages and helping customers.

Before that, I would hustle around the neighborhood washing cars and mowing lawns.

The High School I attended had a program for lower income students. We worked in the middle and elementary school washing trays, silverware and tables. I babysat and worked after school for a local company putting together promotional binders.

Question to all the teachers out there..Or anyone with insight

Ninji's picture

We have been having trouble with SS and his behavior since Pre K.

All his teachers have dealt with it by bribing him. "SS if you sit quiet for 30 minutes you can a special treat"

Now SS is in the 4th grade and doesn't behave AT ALL unless he gets something out of it and even then may decide the bribe isn't enough.

7 days into the school year, I spoke with SS's new teacher because she was already having big problems with SS.

Seems the phrase "The kids would like that" makes me completely stop paying attention.

If you read any of my recent posts, you know that both Skids are failing miserably. Added to that, SS is COMPLETELY out of control in school. After the PTC on Thursday and many many "I swear" my SS to behave and do his work, his teacher said Friday was his worse day so far this year....And that's really saying something.

If these were my skids, they would not be doing anything fun. If I even caught them having fun by accident, I would put a stop it. But not my SO...Oh, no.
