Invsible and depressed

I feel like no one can take the time to care about me today. I got a call from my boss asking me to come in tomorrow afternoon to talk about a promotion. This is huge news. I told DH and he is just worried that with the promotion comes more hours and more responsibilities for me which I understand but a congratulations or an I'm proud of you would have been nice.

I called my mom and she told me I should turn down the promotion. This promotion could potentially have me earning an additional ten thousand to twenty thousand a year. I know it will be hard to take on a leading role within the company and still be a great mommy but I know I can do it. All of my friends are to busy to talk to me and I feel like I am just annoying them or bragging by calling them although if the shoe was on the other foot I would be extremely happy for them. My Dad won't even listen to me because one of his cows just delivered today and he is busy tending to her and the baby calf.

I just want someone to share my joy with.:(

This will give you time to mull it over by yourself. And of course you always have us. Anything can be done if you really put your mind to it. Go in and find out the details. Tell your boss that you feel privilaged to have the opportunity and if he would mind giving you time to work out the details so that your sure that you can commit. ( I am not sure about your personal issues with time, etc.) Make your lists of pros and cons and tell your husband exactly what you expect of him. You can't get anywhere in life without sacrificing. Everything will be ok and every path leads you to where you need to be. Just breathe and keep calm. Let things come to you honey. Good luck! You being offered a promotion shows you're good at what you do.

Congratulations. I know some very high powered women who were also mothers. Their children are for the most part grown and are all lovely, productive members of society.

Congratulations! Of course you're going to take the promotion, right? Some men don't always like their women to make more money. That equates to more independence and freedom to do as they wish, like leave if things get really bad.

You deserve this and congratulations again!

Congrats!!! That is great.

It is hard in the beginning but you will get in a routine and it will work out. Of course, you may have to cut back on the skids participation though.

That's great news!!! I'm excited for you! Getting a promotion is an awesome accomplishment, your boss obviously see's your hard work. I don't know you but I'm sincerely proud and ecstatic for you. ^_^

Don't listen to your negative DH and mom, you can be an amazing mother while working more hours. My mom has been at school full time and working full time and she's still around and takes care of my younger siblings. She worked a ton while I was growing up too. But she's also the one who taught me to cook, sew, swim, do my laundry and whatnot. you can do it too!!
