I need some respect!

Sad I need some help with respect. What do I do? I am there for the boys for everything. I even go out of my way to tear them away from electronics to do healthy thing things like reading. I take them hiking. I am even on their side to get pets. They end up fighting over who takes him out to the bathroom. I punish them by taking these things away. Then all of a sudden they give them back the things I take away because they can not stand to hear them whine. I need help!

Thank you for the reply. The thing that really sucks is that we have them split with their father. Which is good because he should be there. The more the merrier I say. However, no matter what I do its like my words do not matter. My partner and I are going to sit down and talk about it over dinner. She wants to call a meeting. (which we have done numerous times) and talk to them. They say they understand then it goes back to the same thing. It has gotten to the point where I can not be in their lives. Is that too much? I mean.. I love them but Damn! you know. It is making their mother and me argue so much and I do not like the confrontation.

»Sorry I'm new to this. I'm just so tired and have exhausted so many ways with this situation.
