Hey Ya’ll! 

Long time no see! I was thinking about this site today and realized I missed you! 

I looked and it’s been almost a year since my last post. 

And my my my what a year it has been! 

I don’t have any really juicy step hell updates because well, I’ve been setting bounderies like a mudder trucker and when asked speaking my damn mind. 

As many of you know, last year we took in SO’s elderly father and it was no walk in the park. 2 step kids, 2 BM’s, DD, SO FIL and I. 

If I’m being completely candid, I lost my damn mind-and what’s worse I lost myself. I lost myself. 

SO’s father ended up moving out to a hospital for some time. He’s now survived his 5th non-Hodgkins diagnosis and is once again in remission. 

SS now 14, who is diagnosed with ASD will be integrating into ge Ed this fall from a self contained 15:1:1 classroom. BM is as BM-y as ever but idgaf. Neither does SS so sorry BM. No one cares. 

SD now 9, is coming to see us one day every other weekend-working up to full weekends and I have a lawyer on retainer if things start going south-because I have 0 interest in playing middle man with these people anymore. GBM actually asked for me to be involved-don’t worry I laughed too when she told me she and I needed to communicate not SO and BM2. In all my step parenting glory I said “psh! We didn’t make that child they did! They need to grow up and figure it out!” GBM is a little whacked-there’s a lot more to that story but sorry sis-been there tried that-meet the lawyer who will now take my place if you don’t keep your word (and he’s MEAN too) 

DD now 5 (!?) is starting kindergarten in the fall and as always is full of-I don’t even know what but it would rival the energizer bunny for sure. 

SO is on his way to being healthier than he has ever been sans some comstipation issues that we think we have pretty well figured out (sorry TMI-comes with being 11 years sober from heroin). 

And yours truly survived the biggest work transition in the history of ever (I’d put money on it-shoutout to any Care Managers in NY-woof) and finally learned to say no-with gusto. No to BM drama. No to poor financial decisions. No to anxiety and self limiting thoughts. No to toxic family members straight from the 9th circle of hell. And no to anything that doesn’t “feel” right. I’m not gonna lie ya’ll I found yoga and have been guzzlin that koolaid ever since. I’m set to be RYS certified  next month. 

I don’t think for one second I’m on the outsides of step he’ll-I’ve been around long enough to know better, but it’s been a good year you guys. And I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts! I look forward to catching up with you all and thank you so much for all of the support through everything I endured getting here.
