OT - FPU.. anyone heard of it, or been through it?

FPU = Financial Peace University.

I've been hearing of this for about 2 years now, as my Uncle is an instructor at his church in Texas. DH and I are so sick of living paycheck to paycheck, so we decided to give this a try. Sunday evening was the first of 9 sessions. I was excited going into, and after finishing the first session, am even more excited to see this through.

Have any of you steppers heard of, or been through FPU, or know of anyone that has?

OT - DH cancelled my recording of Shameless...

... and he is in SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much trouble!! I already texted him and told him what an ass licker he is.. yep.. an ass licker!! HAHA

Wednesday is the day I get 1 whole hour for lunch, so I run home just as fast as I can - skip lunch - and turn on the DVR to watch my recording of Shameless.. it's my guilty pleasure! Any other time the tv is on, it's either Spongebob, or Umi Zoomi, or Scooby Doo.. I'm sure you all can relate!

F@$!# ME!!

I don't know how in the hell I spaced this, but I just realized that SS and SD will be here this afternoon for the weekend.. AAAHHHHHHHHHHH....F&@#% ME, MAN!! I was so looking forward to a nice weekend without them!! Dang it! Sorry...just a quick vent Sad

One more vent for the day - MIL, the skids, and BS1 - She's got some nerve!!

Since skids have been on vacation for almost 2 weeks now, poor MIL has hardly known what to do with herself without them. She typically has them 3 days/week, just because... she thinks they're hers... and BM really doesn't mind it at all. Anyway - MIL HAD THE FREAKIN NERVE to call me yesterday, just to talk, and eventually she broke down and told me how much she is missing the skids... she feels like there is a piece of her missing and it aches, not being able to hug them, kiss them, just hear their little voices running around her house.

BM's "History Lesson based Summer Vacation" for SD8 and SS5 - sorry a little long... but please read and help me out here!?!?!?!

2 weeks ago, BM left for the east coast with SD8 and SS5 (we live in CA) to go pick up her BF and take the skids on a 'history-filled family vacay.' DH has been THRILLED about this vacay for the skids, because BM is taking them to 'teach them all about the history of this great nation, and how their father (DH) was directly involved in creating that history.' Her plans included taking them to see the Iwo Jima Memorial, the Marine Corps War Memorial, the Arlington Cemetery, etc., and while its great that they get the opportunity to go and see this stuff, in reality, they are 8 and 5 and have

HAHA - Gotcha, Skids!! (sorry, a little long, but worth the read)

My skids have a really bad habit.. they are both LIARS! They lie about the silliest things. I guess, though, when there are no consequences for it, it's an OK thing to do. I've tried to explain this to DH, but a) he doesn't believe his little angels are anything but truthful and perfect, and b) when he does catch them fibbing or just plain old LYING, he just gives them one of the old "now that's not nice... we don't do that at daddy's house!" and THATS IT! It never goes further than that!! My kids know better...

I'm so confused...

I read alot on Steptalk about 'not doing so much for the skids' since YOU didn't bring them into the world. I had never thought about it that way. I had always thought that since I married DH, part of my job as his loving wife was to support him in all things and do whatever I can to help him out... which included taking care of the skids. More and more lately, however, I find myself wondering 'if these kids have 2 perfectly capable parents, why am I doing all the work?' I have a full time job and work just as hard as both of them...
