The things that should be so simple...

...are always needlessly difficult.

BM has been away on another continent. I always breathe better when she jets off to the homeland, even though it means that there is lots of extra time with SStwinB and SStwinA, who shall from now on be called NIT or Narcissist-In-Training. Anyhoo, she's back today.

We have an expired Epi-Pen and we need a new one. We called the pediatrician to arrange for one, rather than having to deal with her. They called in the script and when I went to pick up (I was out and about), insurance denied it because it exceeded plan limitations.

Now we have to deal with her anyway. It's going to be a looooooong night. And like, this is only her kid's life or death. So it is fun to be an ass about it. Why not try to fuck it up as much as you can when you are a filthy vile creature who happened to birth two spawn, one of whom shows amazing potential at being a chip off the ol' gross block?

Maybe I'm not understanding. Are you trying to say it is BM's fault that your household has an expired epi pen? Or that it is BM's fault that insurance won't cover the medication? How does this translate to BM being an ass...at all?

I'm wondering why dad didn't just pay out of pocket for the thing then figure out the insurance later?

This is a matter of life or death. It's dad's responsibility to ensure that he has what is needed when the kids are in his home.

How is it mom's fault that dad has expired, life saving meds?

Do you know what they charge for epipens now?
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Right?! It is crazy. I just bought one for my nephew. It was over $700.00!! So stupid. And a lot of people can't just pull that kind of money out of thin air.

Yes, I do. One could have a dead kid or drained savings. I'd drain the savings, then deal with BM and insurance issues later.

I think I read a different post than some of you. lol

I think OP is just venting that now they have to deal with BM when they thought it would be easy peasy to refill meds. I went and reread her post and no where does it say that it was BMs fault for the expired meds. NOT ONE PLACE. Nor does it even indicate she blames BM for that.

Just sounds like BM may bring drama and now they have to bring her into the situation for some reason.

Sorry op...
I know it is annoying to deal with a dramatic BM.

Insurance allots 4 per year. One per household, one for school nurse, and one extra for any camp he attends.
We had to use our household one for camp (that she signed them up for) this past summer, and he carried it in daily. The last day he went to her house and he never brought it back.
When she filled script (it was her turn this year, using the insurance that WE procure and pay for), she never distributed but it was ok because thing we have was still good.
We went to get it ready for travel and it is expiring. We wanted a new one without having to deal with her.
Lots and lots and lots of things are this horrible woman's fault, and yes, this is one of them. She thinks nothing of doing her vile BM BS, lots and lots of words and blame and gaslighting, etc....typical NPD BM- but would never ever think of doing the right thing.
Thank you Willow and LadyFace, Another and Sane for your helpful suggestions. No way could we afford one out of pocket! I am petitioning the insurance today. DH says insurance doesn't care about dysfunctional divorces and won't budge. We'll see.

I wish the "Halleluia hands" emoji was on here- it would be so appropriate for your comment, LadyFace. Thank you. She lives here but she goes back to UK several times a year (and forecloses on her house here but hey fabulous people need to travel)! She could easily have bought several there. Hmmmmmmm maybe I'll work on that!!
