bm may have essentially kidnapped the kids for the last 3 years?!

I'm looking through the paper work...

The divorce wasn't finalized until 2011, BM married crazy ass in '08. There was a protective order filed against crazy ass in '09 which FDH was never notified of that involved his children, and this was before FDH had moved out of state.

BM actually kidnapped the oldest step son in '08!!! There was a missing and exploited children notice about him!

The temp order that was partial custody when the divorce was filed ( the only temp order actually filed with the divorce), turns out BM manipulated FDH into changing the stop of pick ups and drop offs from the court house to a friend's house, and then she took the kids and never dropped them off for visitation again. The temporary change of custody papers that FDH signed before he moved, WERE PAPERS DREW UP BY BM THAT FDH SIGNED AND WERE NEVER NOTARIZED OR SUBMITTED TO THE COURT!

And now, reading the custody papers when BM ACTUALLY filed for "abandonment", she didn't actually prove abandonment, the judge has given FDH partiAl custody that BM has never once paid attention to!

So has she kidnapped them for 3 years?

The reason FDH did not know about this is his first lawyer was a piece of shit and FDH is functionally illiterate and dyslexic, no one has ever read these papers to him but me.

I need to find this custody agreement and see if he had any custodial rights taken away. I'm not sure he did, this shit is so convoluted!

Yes the complaints were not filed, but ,I have the letters the evidence he told his lawyer to file, since his lawyer didn't file, I don't see why I can't prove inadequate representation and get the custody agreement revisited by a judge.

I'm sorry are you being purposely obtuse? When the custody is revisited because of the inadequate lawyer, would be the time to actually accuse her of kidnapping, I thought that was made clear. I'm sorry if it wasn't.

I know he should have asked someone, hindsight is 20/20 and all, he just felt completely abandoned at that point in his life. Sadly, I'm the only one who's even asked about all of this. His parents live in Ohio, and at the time, he didn't know how to email or anything like that.

Good news is, I've actually given enough of a shit that when we first got together, I paid for an adult literacy and computer class so now he can function much better with all this tech we use everyday. He even wrote his own code a couple months ago for a little 8-bit story/game he emailed to the boys and I. I'm very proud of how far he has come. He really is very smart, just untaught and the dyslexia didn't help anything. He is a good man, but until me, no one has given him the skills to succeed in more than manual labor jobs.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, however despite him telling his lawyer to file it will probably be turned that he didnt push hard enough. If he asked his lawyer to file and he didnt and he felt he was receiving a bad service he could've changed lawyers. So I doubt that the court would view it as anything more than that.

Well done to him with his progress, my step brothers dyslexic and what started out as embarrassment has now turned to embarrassment and laziness which doesnt help anyone!
