Define a "Supportive Wife" for me....

mamacat_30's picture

Every time DH and I argue I am accused of not being supportive, that I'm not "on his team". Not just referring to the argument om hand, but to everyday life. So, I'd like to know how you ladies and gents would define a "Supportive Wife". What are the everyday things a wife does to show her husband that she is "on his team"?

I know what the things are that I do, and I know my definition of a Supportive Wife, but if I tell you that would be cheating. Maybe I'll take the responses and do a follow up blog. Thanks for you input.

She wants to move the kids out of the state.

mamacat_30's picture

Hi All,
We live in California and BM wants to move the kids to Arizona. The kids are 14,15 and 17. I'm pretty sure she can't do so without the court approval, but does anyone have experience with this? What are the factors that the court considers? Do they usually let it happen or not? Any advice or additional resources are appreciated.

Thank You.

Appropriate interaction or not?

Let me run this by you all. I was at an event for SS14 and BM and her DH were there as well. I had brought SD15 and SD17 came with BM. They ended up sitting about 6 feet from where I was set up, but we were not really in eyesight of each other because I was under the umbrella with BD. Anyway, in the time that we were there I saw BM's DH slap SD17 on the but and heard him commenting to SD14 about being able to see her panty lines through her leggings. Both things that DH would DIE before doing. Appropriate?

So I am 35 weeks pregnant, and baby girl is breech. Going back to see the ob on friday, and if she hasn't turned he wants to do the ECV. Anyone had this done before? Good results? Bad? Painful?

On a side note, anyone know of a good online resource or blog site for parents? Some place I could check in about my BS and soon to be delivered BD? I have so many questions about his development and is this normal etc. I mean, I could bug you guys about it, but I think we all have enough on our plates already. Thanks.

How much of the relationship is SD17 responsible for?

mamacat_30's picture

It's been nearly 2 years since SD17 has come over with the other kids for any sort of visitation. We see her occasionally at sports functions for the other kids, but really don't have much of a relationship with her. She really put everyone through the ringer a couple years back, child services got involved, court dates, TRO's, the whole 9 yards. Nothing came of it then, because nothing she was claiming was true, but anyway...

Steps V/S Bios Hanging out in your/DH's bed

mamacat_30's picture

I've noticed many SM's don't want their SKids in their bed. I'm not any different, it bugs me when I can't go into my room and change into my PJ's or when I have to worry that my "unmentionables" might be visible etc... But is it different when they are your BioKids? I still love to have BS snuggle with us sometimes, but he's only 15 months. I just can't imagine how I'm going to feel about him in our bed in 5, 10, or 15 years. Is it an age issue? Does gender make a difference? BD is due in early March.

Do you all follow up on posts you comment on? / Funeral Update

mamacat_30's picture

I don't get on the site very often, maybe once a day maybe once every 2 or 3 days. I don't post often, but always appreciate the feedback I do get. But I wonder....sometimes by the time I get back to see what happened with my post, it's already a page or two back and is no longer a "hot topic". I often want to respond to comments left, but never really do because I figure no one checks the "old news". So in general, do you all go back and follow blogs that you commented on?

Stupid Brother In Law

Due to a recent death in DH's family we are stuck seeing all the family members that we try hardest to avoid. One of them being BIL and his wife and kids. We see them maybe once every 2 years if that. BIL is just a real dickhead and always has been. So, we kinda got blindsided the other day and ended up at the same house they were at, ugh. Maybe it wasn't the first thing out of their mouths but within the first 5 minutes of being there I hear both BIL and his wife ask the SKids on separate occasions "How's your mom?".
