OT- Baby Shark Tooth and other Musical Atrocities

Major Blunder's picture

Ok so we are no longer hijacking another post, I brought this conversation here lol

Let’s open it up a bit more, What other children’s songs are big with the little Bios and or Skids?

GSD is 8 so she also listens to a lot of Pop (ugh), but I have slowly been getting her to listen to more Rock with Christmas tunes like Springsteen’s “Santa Claus is coming to Town” and The Kinks “ Father Christmas”, we put Spotify on shuffle play and dance around the living room.

GSS is 2 so everything he hears at day care is kid stuff, twinkle twinkle, Wheels on the bus, etc, Good thing here is that he is still little and apparently also has a good sense of humour developing, he and I will sing Wheels on the Bus in this deep slo mo sounding voice and he just cracks up over it.  For him I have been giving him a good diet of Hard Rock and Punk, he bends at the waist and dances around or spins in a circle till he falls down lol

What musical atrocities are you trying to overcome in your home??????

My DH is usually the cause of the musical atrocities (love that!) in our home. He's a musician so he finds a lot of obscure stuff that should remain so as far as my tastes go lol. He loves annoying me with tunes and this year it's "Santa Baby." I HATE that song and yet it finds its way to the holiday playlist every freaking time!

The toddler loves it all. He loves everything from the itsy bitsy spider to Rage Agaisnt the Machine. He has an awesome fist pump dance for rock and a cute booty shake for everything else.

Hey Major I missed what happened, but I see the post I commented on was deleted....hopefully not because of anything that was said.....

Hmm musically my DH tends to lean towards what I term lite 80's so he's very into what I believe Carlton from Fresh Prince would listen to on his walkman back in the day. LOL!

I am more of a 90's grunge girl myself, but I also enjoy music from today. Saddest thing I heard was the "classic" rock station on the radio giving away tickets to a Pennywise concert and dubbing it a classic group...I mean the 90's only happened like what 5 years ago!!!

I didn't know it was deleted , just wanted to not be hijacking a post and this was to much fun not to talk about lol

Pennywise is classic lmao, that is sad !  You won't catch me in a mosh pit anymore but I'll be damned if the 90's are considered classic rock , that's just not right   lol

I tried desperately for years to introduce decent music into the house.  No dice.  It was polluted by every bubble-gum teen sensation in existence.  The lighter and more vapid the better.  I tried a complete survey - Nirvana, Metallica, Bob Marley, Sex Pistols, Elvis Costello, Bowie, Clash, Oasis, NWA just to name a few.  Basically something from every genre except country.  Absolutely no reaction to anything.  All they wanted was more Justin Bieber.  Speaking of demons.....
