Am I being a prude?????

I am very curious about the subject of modesty in this day and age.

My SD is extremely chatty with adults, especially men. She is always shaking her butt or dancing around. If a person, especially an adult, even gives her the slightest acknowledgment of attention, it's like... she will feed off of it. She CRAVES IT. This is something I have always found very annoying about her, but still, I don't want this to attract the wrong type of attention. I have witnessed her behaving this way to grown men, and, if I didn't know any better, I would think she was flirting. How do you bring something like this up? It doesn't help that her BM talks to her like they are teenaged best friends. SD will actually refer to BM's many boyfriends as "our" boyfriend X. Or, "yeah, he doesn't like us anymore lol." Uhhhhh what?

SD is not into boys AT ALL so I do not think she is really doing any of these things with any knowledge of it. She is already starting to look curvy though. She is 8. She listens to music at BM's house that I probably wouldn't want an 8 year old listening to like Katy Perry/Lady GaGa. I am NOT a prude but hearing an 8 yr old sing certain Katy Perry lyrics is kind of disturbing. She came home bragging how she knew all the words to Dark Horse, even the rap parts..which are about sex.

Again, I don't think she realizes what it is..but how do you keep young girls safe when they are constantly bombarded with hypersexual media?

It doesn't help that SD thrives on adult attention.

What can I do?? Am I being paranoid??

SS is 8 and knows all of dark horse but he tells me other songs are inappropriate for him. I really think he thinks the song is about magic and animals. I don't like him watching the video though.
Ugh I feel for you. That's really gross that BM is encouraging the "our bf" stuff. Do you think she's mirroring her behaviors ?

I thought of one other thing. When I was prob about middle school age there was girl in my youth group that would go and sit on one of the male parents laps. He wasbt creepy at all his wife was there and his two sons were in the group also. The girl would flirt w him and the rest of us would do it too. Later my mom pointed out how it was really inappropriate. I was really embarrassed bc I thought I was playing not flirting. I stopped. And encouraged others to stop also.

So the problem is that BM and DH have not spoken, literally, in about three years (other than in mediation.) BM's mother is the main care giver for SD when SD is over there. I WOULD LOVE for my husband to call these stupid bitches out on all of their terrible parenting but he is like...super anti causing conflict. WHY? Seriously, if I were him and I had to deal with those stupid bitches I would be going off on them constantly. I have zero cares about whether I hurt their wittle fee fees or not and I would 100% call them out on every ounce of bullshit that they spew. My husband pretty much just pretends that they dont exist which is stupid because his kid spends a good chunk of time with those people. I guess he will be sad when SD grows up to be just like BM and he loses everyone else because of it!
