America's Navy - A Global Force for Cheese and Rice You Lasted 3 Measly Days

So, H's son is officially done with Navy Bootcamp.  I know what you are all thinking - it's a SKID- you all think he is so smart and so special that they just graduated his butt in 6 days, but no, he 'didn't meet the requirements' and is being sent home.  He signed up, spent a month prior to bootcamp trying to back out, begrudgingly went, lasted 3 days before hurting his leg (yeah-right) and being taken out on medical, rest for 3 days while they run tests, was to be put back in when he started complaining about his leg and his headache and he has a cold and and and.... never went back in.  I guess they are officially saying he 'could not complete the baseline PT', but they probably don't have a category called 'was too much of a whiny little sh!t and no self respecting member of our fine military should be stuck on a boat with him changing his diapers and holding his hand in the dark'.

H came home the other day to tell me that he spoke to PrisonMom and they are both very upset that their little spawn said his leg hurt and the mean ol' Navy wouldn't give him enough time or accomaodations.  Unaware that the Navy has the adult version of a g*d damn IEP for snowflakes that just need a little leeway on requirements, a 1:1 aide to piggy back their butts through bootcamp and a dark cozy cry room when they miss their mommies, I inadvertantly blurted out "well, I guess it's better he find out now that he doen't have what it takes then when he is in a warzone with a minor injury he can't muscle through."  Well, don'tcha know H doesn't see it that way.  Spawn was hurt, legit hurt.  Hurt in a way that no doctor could pin point any diagnosis, but legit hurt non the less.  Maybe they didn't have the right doctors.... or do the right tests.... (and then the best one)... even if there was no injury, they could have given him more than 3 days to rest before saying they would put him back in PT.  

Look, I have kids.  I get it, you want to look out for them.  You want them to succeed.  But hell, my kids are 4 and almost 2... when they half a$$ a commitment or obligation (in as much as toddlers have commitments or obligations) I hold them to it.  They make me proud, they disappoint me.  They are so very smart and sometimes they pull some really stupid stuff.  I love them to itty bitty pieces in a way I never knew I could love.... but they are not perfect.  

I had to pour myself a giant glass of wine in my novelty cup to make it through H's pity party and keep my eyes closed so he couldn't see me staring at the top of the inside of my skull.  Sigh, oh wine, you're the only one who understands.  Lol.
