O/T The WTF that was my Tuesday

lieutenant_dad's picture

Yesterday was a comedy of errors and calamities:

- DH gets a text from OSS after school saying he needs dress shoes for his school concert. The shoes are in my car. I am 30 minutes away from DH, and an hour from OSS. This is at 3:30; concert is at 7. DH doesn't get off until 5, and I have a massage in another town 45 minutes away at 5:30. I had time to flex, so I left a little early and dropped the shoes off with FIL who DH picked them up from. DH gets to the concert at 6:15 to drop them off and...OSS is already practicing and DH can't get him the shoes. Awesome.

- Get to my massage appointment. Therapist gets about 30 minutes in, stops and apologizes, and promptly falls down on the floor. The poor woman nearly passed out and couldn't get out of it. She apologized, rescheduled me (everything for free), and tried to put on a brave face. I stayed with her for a few, but she was cancelling her next appointment and calling family to come help her. Apparently this is new for her and she was terrified.

- Decide to go to the concert since I have time. Driving down the road, I hit a piece of rebar. I now have a HUGE dent and scrape through the paint on my passenger side.

- Leaving the concert, my MIL fell down the bleacher stairs and smacked her head on one of the seat rows. Luckily, she fell into ALL the parents who are doctors and nurses in the school, so they looked her over and whatnot. She refused to go to the hospital, so DH drove her 30 minutes home in her car, then I picked him up, drove 30 minutes back to the school to get his car, then we both drove the 30 minutes home.

- I told BM and the boys what was going on and why everyone left without saying goodbye. BM says the boys would like to stay with DH one week of fall break. I said I would pass along the message, and asked the dates. She said next week, starting this Friday.

*deep breaths*

That's a lot for one day. I hope you had some time at the end of the day for some quiet and stress-free relaxation.

We didn't get home until 10, and I get up at 6 to get ready for work. No real time to relax, unfortunately, and we both fell asleep on the couch.

Today, though, should be less hectic.

Sometimes we can't make up how crazy our lives are! Hope the rest of the week goes a little smoother!

I actually started laughing at myself yesterday at all the crazy. It just seemed surreal that all this stuff just kept happening back-to-back.

Here's hoping Friday gets here with little issue.

Thank you. I'm hopeful now that the first half of the day has gone by fairly smoothly.
