MIL tries to stir the pot again

Jcksjj's picture

So I had shut off my Facebook for awhile because I was sick of people causing drama on it. Ahem, inlaws.

Signed back in today to create a birthday event for DS2s birthday coming up. DH had wanted to invite his parents still even though really they both need to just fall off a porch and die. But MIL had deleted me - WHEN MY ACCOUNT WASNT EVEN ACTIVE - so she really went out of her way to.

Dang, guess I can't invite her then. What a childish old woman.

ETA: She deleted DH too! I wonder if she's disowning him because SD doesn't live here anymore.

Before Facebook there was this thing that one could use to call their parent. I think it was called a phone. There a number that was used somehow and there was a noise at the end of the line to let that person know there was someone trying to talk to them. If DH could find one of these things, it might be possible for him to talk to his parent. (But, for your sake and that of his two year old, I hope he doesn't)

GOLDEN TICKET!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! Give MIL the gift of absence, and cut her out of your life.

I remove people who are inactive. When I bother to even look at such things. Maybe they got rid of Facebook themselves?

No, she didn't. She didn't even block us, just unfriended. And DHs account wasn't inactive, only mine so it was definitely for a reason.

My guess is that they plan to see post about seeing SD through BM and don't want you guys to see it.

Be glad she unfriended you.

I hope your DH is waking up and realizing just how screwy his family of origin is, but it's hard when it's how you grew up and all you know.

It's looking more and more like he needs to have hard words with his mom to warn her that she either gets right with him, or she'll be put in time out. He really is the one with the power here, but he has to be willing to apply it ruthlessly and follow through with consequences. Your MIL seems very sure of her place as head of Dysfunction Junction, so kid gloves won't work with her.
