Skids are so dense (and lazy)- last rant

I love dogs's picture

I promise. We had thin cut New York strips and baked potatoes for dinner last night and SD barely touched her potato then asks what to do with it after. I ask if she's taking leftovers for lunch and she mumbles "yeah" in her best mousy, unamused voice. I say "ok, cut up your steak so it's ready to go tomorrow". I got an "ok" but saw that she put the whole steak into her lunch container. Whatever.

Princess can have mac n cheese after school

After my 2 day rant about DH buying last minute lunches for SD because the only food she ever eats here isn't good enough to take because it's not leftovers (besides the pizza), SD can have her single serve mac n cheese bowls as a 6pm snack. I have potatoes baking in the oven and am about to start the grill now that my dogs are walked. Too bad if she doesn't want my steak and baked potato leftovers for lunch tomorrow, DH can deal with it. She won't even touch the sunflower salad.

WTH is going on? SD lunch rant

As I said in my blog yesterday, SD convinced DH to take her lunch yesterday instead of eating the perfectly fine, less than 1 day old pizza leftovers. Last night we didn't cook either but we have lunch things for SD to take. On the way home, she asks what she's doing for lunch tomorrow and I tell her we have mac n cheese and yogurt. She whines and mumbles about it but no one told me to stop by the store or anywhere to get her "lunch" for today.

Why is it such a big deal?

I've been pretty quiet on here lately because I've been trying to focus on me and baby and REALLY enjoying the off weeks that we don't have SD. Last week went by way too quickly without her. Last night, we left her with 2 large slices of pizza for dinner (leftover from our lunch) as DH is hosting a small group for our church and we're usually gone from 5-10ish setting up and visiting with friends. Today, SD asked DH what she's taking for lunch.

SD warmed my heart tonight

I picked SD up today because DH had a business meeting this afternoon. We talked about a lot of different things and we found out 100% that her new sibling is a girl (I am now 20 weeks along)!

Anyway, she was in her room playing a game on the laptop with her friend and I asked her if she wanted dessert since I was getting some for us. She said yes so as I was walking away, she said "I see baby!"!! I have been really self conscious about being on the brink of "is she fat or pregnant?" and it really made me happy. I smiled, patted my belly and said "yep, there she is".

I told DH to handle it

BM signed SD up for a second improv class. The classes were on Wednesday before and SD was easily dropped off and picked up. DH is working today so I told him I'd take SD at 2 and pick her up at 3. I confirmed with her this morning and she adds "the new rule is you have to go inside to sign me in". Ok? Then "BM is going today so you don't have to but every other time you and dad have to go in".

Fed up with step life today

And it isn't even our week with SD. A few days ago she told us that there were ants in her room which was no surprise because the buggers have been attracted to the dog's food and my countertops but SD's room is on the other side of the house. Well, she has been eating in her room even though the rule is NO FOOD IN THE ROOM. Some of you may also remember that she got superglue on my laptop screen and as no surprise, DH didn't fix it like he said he would over 3 months ago!

Would this bother you?

DH and I were both gone yesterday evening until about 9pm. SD's art supplies she ordered were delivered and SD was told we will arrange to get them to her when that happens. The Amazon order said they'd be delivered 8pm Monday night so I don't know if you get an email alert when they're actually delivered?

So BM texted DH something like: "we went by your house to pickup SD's package just so you don't think someone stole it". That was about 6:45. DH told me to just be happy that SD got her art supplies and to "be grateful" that we don't have to drop them off to her or see BM.

"BM says..."

SD has been using this line A LOT this year. I know when the custody battle was really ugly 4 years ago, SD was "not allowed" to talk about DH or me at BM's. I never wanted to be like that so I usually ignore these statements or give very uninterested acknowledgement.

But my goodness, what's with it?? We don't give a damn what BM does or says, why does SD have to constantly bring her up? Like the other day SD said that BM sleeps commando and was surprised that SD sleeps with underwear on. Apparently BM says they leave marks in your skin.. Well maybe wear undies that fit you?
