Am I Pregnant?

helena_brass's picture

Because several people now have told me that I am.

Before I describe anything, I have taken two home tests, and both came back negative. I took the tests about two weeks ago, just a little after my "period." It was pretty light, but I would consider it more than spotting.

I've been feeling a little weird lately. My eating habits are totally off and I've been having tummy troubles. That's what got me wondering. I figured I was just sick, because my throat has been sore off and on, and something is going around. But for the past two days now I've been having horrible bouts of vertigo. I've never had that before, and it is really frightening. I've also been unable to focus at work; I feel spacey.

I have an appointment tomorrow, but I guess I just wanted to run this by others. Does that sound like pregnancy or anything else you know?

You could be. Take another home test. If your "period" was implantation bleeding.... It wouldn't show up as a positive for a few more days.

Like Peanut said, the 'period' could have been implantation bleeding. And I think I read somewhere that it takes about 3 days after that for the hcg to get high enough to register positive on a urine test. I'd take another hpt

Changes in the weather can do that to you, although you should go to the doctor just in case.

All of my girlfriends and I (the 5 of us) are going through the exact same symptoms you are. I doubt we could all be pregnant at the same time, and all of our pregnancy tests are negative.

However, we ALL have allergies to pollen, and it's been especially bad this week. So our dizziness and sore throats are being caused by that (I take claritan which has cleared mine up.) All our appetites have been off, not wanting to eat much, or wanting to eat strange foods. Cravings out of nowhere. Acid reflux.

It's funny because we're all in different parts of the state, but our bodies are so in tune with eachother.

Also, if you stay in front of a computer all day, check the frequency of your monitor screen. When I first started work and stared at a computer screen for 8 hours a day, man did I get really bad vertigo (threw up several times), changed a monitor because the frequency is too fast for you to consciously pickup, but enough so that your brain feels it. Once in a while, if I'm under the weather, it can come back.

Anyway good luck at the docs! Keep us posted!

Hmm, I will have to keep that in mind. I do work in front of the computer all day long, though I'm not sure why this would suddenly start bothering me now.

Allergies would make sense. I have never had them before though.

I never had allergies the way I did this year either--

I used to have the runny nose, congestion, and runny eyes deal and tissues every year. This year though, I've gotten the headaches, dizziness, fogginess, sore throat. I coughed for a while too.

Then I went to the doctor and she applied pressure to my sinus cavities and HOLY COW. OWOWOWOWOW.

Turns out my allergies were so bad my sinuses were inflamed.

Everyone's pregnancy symptoms are different of course but for me, the first things I noticed before I even knew I was pregnant was discomfort in my breasts and sudden fatigue everyday in the mid-afternoon.

Best wishes to you and I know you'll keep us up to date! Biggrin
