After no Skids for a Month, They're Back

I was happy to see them. They spent most of the summer at their grandma's (of course BM failed to ask DH if that was okay--her mom lives several hours away and the CO states that both parents need to agree if the kids are taken out of the county). Despite that, they had a lot of fun up there and seemed a little less at each others' throats stir-crazy this weekend.

FSD9 loves to hang out with FDH and me, and she talks A LOT. So we learned a few things (unasked, she just blabs it out):
1) She's been babysitting her brother (he's 4) when BM goes "to the gas station." Hmm... I'm pretty sure that's illegal.
2) BM has told FSD that she will pull her out of school and have her home-schooled in a few years--once she's at middle school age (CO states that all medical/educational decisions will be joint, and FDH freaked at this because BM is academically dumb as a rock).
3) BM has to take pills that turn her urine orange--I'm guessing urinary tract infection? Lovely.

In addition to all this lovely news, BM texted FDH not long after he got home with the skids on Friday, saying that FSS might be homesick and she told FSS before they left that if he got too sad mommy would pick him up. FDH was, rightfully, pissed. Yes, maybe FSS is homesick because he's 4 years old and you shipped him off to your mother's for over a month so you could party with your BF (there have been several large summer festivals that I'm sure she wanted to attend without the kids). Ugh. Look, I don't begrudge her the right to enjoy herself, but how dare she try to take more time away from FDH because SHE sent the kids away. He was so happy to see them. He's starting to get a bit worried because FSD is looking older (she got a haircut and her legs got even longer). This weekend she looked a lot like BM actually. Ironically enough, she seemed really happy to see me too, and we hung out a lot during their time with us.

Nice to hear it went well. See we're opposistes-I would have loved to have sd shipped anywhere but w/the bf for the summer Smile

I hadn't seen her for about a month-saw her a few hrs a cpl wknds ago and just about wanted to throttle her Smile

OH-and yes, looks just like BM..she always has-but now at the ripe age of 10 BM decided it would be cute to get matching tacky chunky large streaked highlights to match hers....just lovely. It literally is like staring bm in the face -ughhh

Thank you! Haha, I bet a lot of SMs would love the skids shipped off. Consider boarding school? Blum 3 I just got really lucky. Of course, no guarantee it will always be that way, but I'll take what I can get.

Highlights at 10? Ugh. It's ridiculous how much some kids can look like their parents. It amazes me when people assume SD is my daughter. We don't resemble one another at all.
