Week 6: I hit my first big goal!

HadEnoughx5's picture

I can't believe it's been 6 weeks when I decided to take care of my health. I can't get over the changes that I have made and the results.

I weighed in and I have officially lost 10% of my body weight. My reward? A massage coming soon! Now I need to set my goal on the next 10% but I'm focusing on 10lb segments and number groups. It keeps me focused in small goals instead of the big picture otherwise I will become really discouraged.

My blood pressure is down for the 3rd week in a row, 106/70. The Dr. says I may be coming off my water pill soon Smile I learned a little more in my nutrition class about reading food labels and how much Protein, Sodium, Cholesterol and Fat I should have in my diet for my age. I also learned about setting attainable goals for my self. Smile

I've been making great strides with my weight, blood pressure and education about nutrition. But I have to say after last weeks huge weigh in and lost 7.5 pounds, when I weighed in and lost 1.8, I felt bummed. I ate healthy all week and walked more, with small results Sad

I know I should be happy but I can't help feeling low Sad

I think it's going to be a tough week for me.

You're doing great. It is very inspiring for all of us to see someone succeed at something so difficult. Even though your result this week wasn't as much as the week before, you still lost which is still progress. It will get less because some of the fat is being replaced by muscle and muscle weighs more. The more you exercise the more this happens and often shows up as less weight loss.

Are you using any online sites or Apps to track your food? If so, which one are you using?

Get that massage ASAP. You deserve it.

Thanks Sports Fan. I am writing what I am eating by using the Exchange program. I think it's what the diabetic patients are taught. I scheduled my massage for Friday. I figure it would serve me well before the start of a no skids weekend.

This is SO awesome and inspriing!!! Smile I got on the scale this morning and instead of feeling depressed I decided I AM going to lose weight... Yeah, horrible time to start being with the holidays and all but who cares. I'm giving myself small goals, like 5 lbs goals. Smile

That's a great way to start. I started at the beginning of October and I was surprised on how I handled Halloween…no candy! Holidays and special occasions will always be there and I decided I needed to deal with it. I did have a slip at the beginning of Nov. but got back on the wagon and forgave myself.

5 pounds at a time.

Don't focus on the scale. . .it changes so frequently!

In the last few months, I've lost 35lbs and close to 20 inches. I don't have a weight goal, but I do have a size goal. I was told it's more about how you feel in your own skin! You're doing great. . .keep going!

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Sad But it is great to hear that you are taking care of yourself. I'm amazed how much I wrapped my life into DH, skids and the BM drama. I lost me in the process and my body was a punching bag collecting one medical problem after another.

As I take care of myself, I feel emotional weight coming off my shoulders and feeling good.

Great job, Had! And ej as well! I am so proud that you can lose weight. I am so stressed out I don't know if I'll ever be able to get back to "me."
