DH...you actually went behind my back to get your son the damn thing he wanted while I was gone to take my brother home. I told him and you that he could not have that and you decided to give him the damn thing anyway. Well your bright son failed to get rid of all the evidence. So I found out. Thanks! Also, since your lovely son decides to steal the food that my mother bought us since we don't have but $5 in the bank, when we run out, we run out. Get off your lazy ass and find a damn way to get this fixed! I work full time and I'm trying to find ways to get another job and try to find out how to go back to school so I can help support this damn family better, but I can't because I have to stay here while you go to work the couple of days you actually do. I pay most of the bills right now. You wanted all of htem in my name since you have such crappy credit. Stupid me listend to you and now I have crappy credit. Would you really like to knwo what all is broken and needs to be paid? I am fixing to have to figure out how to get my car fixed but I can't since everyone keeps spending my money. So again, when we are out of food, we are out of food!

(Just a rant! Very fustrated! >:( )

Can you return the item? or sell it for some money? Make an example of what he should or shouldnt do in the future. when the boy asks why it is gone make dh explain his mistake. I know that sounds harsh, but its teaching the ss he can live outside his means and doesnt have to consider the greater good. I cant believe he stole food when you had so little. if there is a food bank nearby make him (dh) and ss go get some food. maybe it'll bring the situtaion into a more serious light?

dodgegal05's picture

well you cant sell or return them, but can you take them away? your comment posted while i was writing mine.

habsle's picture

Sorry I was watching TV to try to get my mind off it. No I cannot take them away. I don't have that right. Although I can't say that I haven't thought about dropping them...only it's food so it's kinda hard to do that.

Lalena75's picture

Eat them, eat every one of them with milk dunk them in take a bite and if you don't want to finish it on to the next one. (I know kinda childish but sometimes I'm awful passive aggressive)

youngmama1b1g's picture

I was going to say the EXACT thing. I'd be there with a big ol' cup of cocoa devouring them! Making "mmm"s as I went too!

This is why me and my SO keep finances separate. He does rent and I do most of the other ones (all I can cover on my own with money to spare). For our cellphones, we alternate by month even though my name is on it. By assigning it that way, there's no confusion about who's turn it is for what or when a bill is due. Hope you figure a better way to make it happen in your house.

habsle's picture

You know. That's a damn good idea! I'm feeling passive aggressive too! I might even make that fancy coffee...

Seriously if you think this is about doughnuts then you are on the wrong boards - of course she is not upset about the doughnuts - she is upset that her DH went behind her back and bought something that they obviously cannot afford because her entitled little jerk of a skid just had to have those doughnuts - so if your question is for real and you are not someone on here trying to stir the pot - then let me make it very very very clear to you - SHE IS NOT UPSET OVER THE DAMN DOUGHNUTS!!!!!

Stpmom1025, I'm thinking he/she is a person whose daddy got remarried and has issues over no longer being his one and only. It's been amusing so far, lol.

stpmom1025- I have no life because I have a different opinion than yours? Really. Can't you have a conversation witout attacking ( I bet your husband says that too - whoops, that was a little attacking) You are here as well, but I'm sure you have a life. You are intolerant but think it is okay because you are a stepmom. Maybe you should lobby Congress to make stepmom a protected class. Or you could let go of your scapegoat and get coping skills.

Look! This is my post! If you want to keep arguing please don't do it on my post. I keep thinking that I have a comment and I find this crap!

Totalybogus's picture

Really... Donuts?? The aggravation you're putting on yourself will cost you more than the 8 or so dollars the donuts cost.

caregiver1127's picture

Okay I am not quite sure why some posters think that this post is about donuts - really you who are even bringing up the word donuts this is what you think this is about - hello she is pissed that her DH went behind her back - plain and simple her ss wanted something they could not afford this week - he waited until OP went out of his sight and then ran to the store and bought something they could not afford IN CASE EVERYONE COULD NOT READ THAT THEY HAVE LESS THAN $5 AND ONCE IT IS GONE IT IS GONE AND I DON'T THINK SHE WAS SPEAKING IN CODE HERE SHE LITERALLY HAS $5 LEFT AND HE SPENT THAT ON DONUTS which again is not why she is complaining - why are we giving this poster such a hard time - this is a legitimate complaint about her DH not taking the responsibility of being a parent and saying NO TO HIS SON!! Plain and simple so can we please get off the freaking donut comment!!! Habsie I know where your are coming from and there are people on this site who understand what you are trying to say - so keep venting and know there are some of us on here who are listening!!

habsle's picture

IF THEY WANT ME TO BE TECHNICAL IT IS $4.87!Thank you so much for understanding caregiver!

caregiver1127's picture

Anytime sweetie - just come on here and bitch and vent all you want - I am here to listen and perhaps stick up for you a time or two!!! And I think everyone now understands IT IS NOT ABOUT THE DONUTS!!!

The sneaky behind your back thing would be bad enough at any time but to do this when you specifically said no, and at a time when you could not afford, that sucks. You have every right to be annoyed about this. DH is just trying to make himself look good with ss while making you look bad, and that is opening a whole other can of worms. Eat the stupid donuts or wrap them up in foil and freeze them and tell him they are finished, that would be true because they are finished to him, and don't worry about people who think you are worried about the donuts, most us know it is about undermining you and sneaking behind your back.

Lalena75's picture

So I came back and saw the new comments, and my first though was to change my signature to "it's not about the donuts!" maybe it'll be today's facebook qotd. I'm hoping you enjoyed them with the good coffee though.

sasha101's picture

I too understand where you're coming from - it's bad enough when you don't have enough money to last the week without your irresponsible dh giving in to his brat behind your back over something so completely wasteful and unnecessary. I'd make sure your dh was the first one to do without when there's nothing left in the cupboards!!

habsle's picture

No matter what I do, I upset the SS. If I was the one who bought him the doughnuts, he would have been upset that they were chocolate when in actually what he meant was strawberry! However, I think I will withdraw all of the cash and give him the money to go buy his SS lunches for the week.Maybe he can see how much they really cost!

jadedprincess's picture

this is why dh and i have seperate accounts and it will remain that way until the kids are grown. we have an acct together as well but that is for community expenses like food and gas. my dh doesnt spend the last 5 on donuts its just a precaution. i would be mad as hell too and i would probably beat my dh upside the head with something nice and heavy.
