A woman's poem

h7's picture

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked the shit out of him...

Like his mother used to do.

Don't worry,
I'll take care of this;
this being our relationship.

Don't worry,
I'll take care of this,
Just like I have taken
care of everything else in our life.

Don't worry,
I'll take care of this.
I am not mad
That in taking care
of you - you took
advantage of me.

Don't worry.
I'll take care of this.
I am not in shock
That I pledged my:
Love, honor in sickness
and in health till death
do we part;
to have it thrown
back in my face.

Don't worry
I have taken care of it.
When you hear the echo
of an empty home,
and you realize
I am gone -
And that you actually
Loved me
That I actually was
Important to you
that you just forgot
to show me how much.

Don't worry
I promised
That I would
Take care of it,
and when you fully
realize this
I will be long gone.

Hipi: very clever, I am impressed!
StrongGirl: that was powerful.

I only have written a couple that are too specific, like, you thought you were rich but then the dot.com crashed down. I need to make it more universal, more every-man and every-woman . . . ok, thanks

I didn't make it up... I got it in an email & thought I'd share it here. I'm not much of a poet.

Hipi

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.
