O/T Furbaby

I don't mean to blog hog but I wanted this to be separate from my other blog. I really need some advice about one of my furbabies.

I've had dogs all my life. I love them I would adopt them all if I could. I'm really good with training and such but this one has me baffled.

I have a standard Chihuahua/mini pinscher mix. She's about 8lbs. We adopted her 3 years ago. She won't stop tearing up my trash. OMG this is driving me nuts. I know that if a dog has been starved it takes awhile for them to understand that they don't have to scavange there will always be food for them. I've tried breaking up her food into smaller meals and feeding her several times a day and even just getting one of those feeding dispenser things. She still tears up my trash. I got a trash can with the snap on lid, she knocked it over and chewed on the handles until she got it open. I have to put it in the mudroom and close the door and if you even get near that door she comes barreling toward the door and usually slams into it (we have wood floors-no traction)

She eats until she vomits and then still tries to eat. I do not get this. The vet says there is nothing wrong (like maybe the receptors that tell you are full are not working for her or something)

I have a daschaund/pom. She also does this. She has separation issues and when she is mad at us this is what she does. Little dogs have attitudes.

we keep all the doors closed so she can't get into the bedrooms or bathrooms. grrrrrrrrr I wish she would stop doing this.

At least your dog doesn't eat her own shit then wants to cuddle and burps in your face like it's no big deal. Can get mine to stop doing this, and I don't think hot sauce will help my issue.

#couldbeworse.

Might be worth getting your hands on a garden bin, I think its actually meant for cement and stuff but basically it has no base, its super thick plastic and fits 3 of our big black bin bags in.

The trash raiders in our house are two cats, we actually assumed it was the youngster but have caught the pair of them at it. Tried tabasco and various spices but didnt work. Little sods would only attempt it when we were out or sleeping.
The garbage collection service here has changed, we used to have a big plastic wheelie bin that you stuck your bin bags in but they've changed it back so they only collect your rubbish if its individual black bin bags and you had to give the wheelie bins back. (Personally think it was a stupid decision, big wheelie bins is far more hygenic!)

But anyway our big garden/cement bin does the job for us, the lid is a flat lid, our cats havent worked out how to open it yet (they have handles, push release lids and can manage most cupboards) so I would expect it to hold up to the same attempts of a little dog like yours.

I bought a tall baby gate with a door. She laid at the gate and whimpered and whined all night because she couldn't get into the kitchen.
