Update to pets

So I know there are a LOT of pet lovers on here so I figured I would share an update on the pets/moving cross country that I had posted about a month ago now. So we will be driving in the truck with both the cat and the dog. We got a car seat kennel that runs the length of the whole backseat, straps into the car buckles on either side and attaches around the head rest as well. It has mesh along the front so they can see and the actual end of a kennel with the metal doors on either end. We have been practicing once a week going on car rides with the both of them in it and we have a vet appointment next week to get sedation meds for the cat and talk to the vet about it. Luckily we have had some warmer days this week so we even went and took them to a park, put the cat in her outdoor playpen and let the dog run around. Both pets now have harnesses for their travel/car rides as well. When we get closer next we will be switching the litter box to the one the cat will be using for travel so she gets used to it. Even actually started an instagram because my family finds all this hilarious and want to see what they are doing. Thank you for all the feedback and advice I was given, I feel much better about doing the trip this way and it will just make it that much more interesting!

For me, moving pets is by far the most stressful aspect of making a move. We are going to be moving +2000 miles this year, and you can bet the cats AND I will be on meds.
