Wedding Etiquette

There is something that I was wondering. There is nothing in particular going on. Just a thought. What is the wedding etiquette for bridesmaids and groomsmen who are married? Is it appropriate for them to walk down the aisle with someone else? I know there's situations where the bride doesn't know the wife or the groom doesn't know the husband. What about the wedding party table? If the wife or husband accompanies their spouse as a date, is the spouse left alone? What if he or she doesn't know anyone else? I was just kind of curious about this. Would it be appropriate to decline an invitation of groomsman or bridesmaid because of this issue? I will have to plan a wedding eventually and I am hoping this won't be an issue.

The members of our bridal party were the only ones to walk down the aisle. We had a sweetheart table instead of a head table and reserved the four tables closest to us for family and bridal party and their dates. We did not do a seating arrangement outside of that. We also allowed kids at our wedding, and two of my bridesmaids had their spouse and two kids with them. For our wedding, it made it more relaxed and less hassle.

If my family weren't insane and my sister had to be drunk before my wedding started, I probably would have just sat at a regular table, too. However, it was nice to just have DH to talk to last fall for a little bit.

My SS sat with his grandparents and my God kids who are his age and had a blast with them, btw.
