The Little Green Robot

Fedupmama's picture

OSS is 12. With the mentality of a 3yr old. Literally. There's this stupid, tiny, green robot that has been packed away in a box in the garage for YEARS! DH and I cleaned the garage this summer and tossed tons of junk. Our daughter, 3, found it and loves it. Plays with it all the time. Tonight, OSS starts taunting her with it and pretending to melt it in the microwave and not giving it back to her saying it's his robot. DH steps in and tells him to stop, no one wants to hear her have a melt down and to give her the robot back. He argues back saying it is his robot, blah blah blah. I say "maybe we should just buy him 3yr old toys for Christmas seeing as that's what he likes to play with". He backtalks it's not a 3yr old's toy, it's a fidget robot! DH asks him why he needs it so bad, so he can go in his room and fidget his robot!? And all OSS can say is 'it's mine!!".  Then taunts daughter by saying he gets her play kitchen if she gets his robot. DH took daughter upstairs to watch a show and play with the robot and OSS says lowly "I hate you", either meaning our daughter or DH.

Seriously. Wtf. In the day and age of iPhones and Xboxes this guy has a fit over a 3inch green plastic robot with a toddler. And no one seemed to miss the damn thing while it was packed away for years in the garage. I'm just blown away at his lack of maturity. It brings out the worst schadenfreude in me, which is equally immature.
