Feeling crazy/frustrated; baby help?

My DD1 started throwing up last night around 11 and when her stomach was empty, she was dry heaving and/or caughing up this gooey stuff. No fever, no diarhea. This went on until 3 am when she finally fell asleep. Of course I called her pediatrician's 24 hr. line. The nurse told me it isn't serious b/c she doesn't have a fever, and to keep her hydrated on tablespoons of water - 1 tbsp no more often than every 5 min. and only if she asks. The problem is she can't even keep down the 1 tbsp of water. Is this really not serious? I'm worried!

No, I have a DD10, but she never got sick like this; her big thing was sinus infections and colds. I can handle those like a pro! But yes, it's mainly the dehydration that I'm worried about b/c she can literally keep nothing down.

I agree with th3ladyb to watch it for a day. Usually these things last only 24 hours, but if tomorrow morning she is still sick call doctor first thing in the morning ask to be seen right away.
