Good Therapy

After nearly two months of SD16 moving out of our house and back home with BM I have finally decided to go upstairs and do something with the bedroom she slept in and trashed. I just couldn't face the mess which translates into total disrespect for me and DH. I went up there on Saturday afternoon, looked around and decided to change the general theme of the bedding, accesories, etc. SD16 decided right away that she wanted that room because it was the largest, had great windows and skylights over my sewing desk. SHe took down all of my daughter's Dean's List awards.I couldn't do any sewing because she spent all of her time in there and wouldn't come out.I cleaned the room on SUnday and went to Home Goods and picked out some new accesories in nice colors of pale aqua, butter and light spring green. We live on an island in the middle of the river and the new decor looks so fresh and springy now!! I went to the fabric store at lunch and found some coordinating fabrics to cover the vanity seat and chair. I can also use my sewing machine again to make some valances for the windows. I feel like the bad experience is finally over!!!!

I hung them up tonight when I put up the new pictures and put the accesories on the furniture. I will buy the fabric on Wednesday. The SD16 is now living with her boyfriend, won't speak to DH and isn't going to alternative HS classes. Dh asked me what we were doing at Easter and I made it real clear he could go visit his daughter but she is not yet welcome in our home. My BD will graduate from college in May with a 3.9 grade point average and already has a job. Like yours my kid is polite, moral and not spoiled like the stepkids.
