OT: Another Furbaby heartbreak

Dawn-Moderator's picture

It has been almost a full week since we had to say goodbye to our sweet 17 yr old kitty.  She was our baby for 15.5 years and I still can't believe she's gone.  Why oh why did we get our babies so close in age.  This is so awful.

Her name was Belle. Affectionately know as Belle Pepper.

In 2003, we went to a rescue group to look at a kitty named Maggie.  As we were looking at Maggie, we saw this red and white tabby come to the front of her cage.  She had one blue eye and one green eye.  She had us at meow.........

My heart hurts.......

Belle was lucky to have your loving care defining her life. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry! I know now you are feeling...it is truly awful losing one of these little loves. I adopted a kitten from a rescue 20 years ago. He was all scraggly looking, the fur on his tail was shaved from having ringworm and he couldn't meow. I didn't care, I knew I had to have this cat. He was literally the best cat I have ever met, perfect for me in every way, and moved across the country with me 4 times, like a champ. He died unexpectedly just over 3 years ago, and I was so gutted, I could barely function for days. I cried daily for months. I now have 2 cats I rescued, and of course I love them, but it is not even close to the one who passed away.

Hang in there. Hugs.

I lost my precious 19 yr old Iolanthe, blue/frost  point siamese the end of February--she too was a rescue cat.  She outdated Chef by at least 3 years!  I had her for 17 years.  We moved from my beloved house that I bought for my bios to a dump to be "closer to the skids" (TM) and took her along with us, of course.

I did adopt two more rescues to be a companion for my 12 yr old Bombay (who is undergoing a dental cleaning at this very moment)

It's not the same but we love the two new additions,  a bengal kitten and a blue/seal point siamese.

(((((((HUGS))))))))))
