not just skids
so we were in walmart last night getting a few things and while walking down an isle there were these 2 kids, i'd say 3ish in age in carts next to each other screaming at each other because it was echoing. they'd scream and laugh and scream and laugh. the two women that were with them appeared to be a very young mother and her mother. the grandma says to one of the kids, "what happened to you, you used to be so quiet" i turned to my husband and not so quietly said "because you're not teaching them to NOT behave that way in public"
is it just how society is going anymore?!?! people are just afraid to say ANYTHING negative to their kid?? my mom would have told me to quit and if that didnt work i would get THE LOOK that will make you stop becasue you know you're in trouble when you get home!!!

Ever since the eighties, and all the psychological mumbo jumbo, failed self-esteem movement, don't crush Junior's spirit or CPS will be called CRAP this stuff has been going on.
Parents now free range their children with little if any guidance and training. The once obvious boundary line between adult and child has been blurred to non-existent. Children rule their parents with an iron fist on threat of having the "nice people" from CPS come visit and launch charges
(I know what kind of "nice people" they are too, b/c my BM, the Behemoth, who is possibly the world's worst mother is a CPS caseworker)
Let's get back to good old fashioned DISCIPLINE not done in anger, corporal punishment when necessary and put the PARENTS back in the DRIVER'S SEAT.
All these gov't agency "do gooders" ambulance chasing attorneys and pharmaceutical companies trying to push pills should be beaten back to the dark ages. IMHO
With all of these modern day "improvements" children have never been so miserable in the western world.
