OT: DH is lucky

Cover1W's picture

He's lucky he's treating me most excellent and helping me since I cannot do much.
Because we got a notice from the IRS that our entire tax return was used to pay his tax debt.
Me, "all of it?!"
DH, "Yes, they used it against my debt. I guess we'll go back to filing separately."
Me, "So after all that arguing with me to do it your way, I was right?! And now I have no return? And it's what we were going to use to pay for the electric upgrade?!!!!"
DH, "yes. I will pay you back and pay for the electrician."
You should have heard him arguing they wouldn't take it all. I couldn't be right you know. He's going to make it good though.

Do what you gotta do, hon.  I'll give you an alibi.

Possibly. But I don't want to bother as long as he pays me for my loss this coming week.

He knows he made a mistake that cost me personally.

He did this to me (1991) as well only it was the opposite.   We would have been better off filing jointly and he insisted on filing separately because he didn't "trust" me to do the taxes although I've been doing my own taxes since 1977.

I ended up paying as in actuality he was my dependent.
