Step Birthday's!!!

What does one mean when they say "step Birthday"  Well I wasn't sure until this week either.  Then SMACK in the face it hit me.  I can say it didn't feel great.  But after the smack came my icepack of reality of you are dead last my dear behind my 22 year old son that should be wearing diapers since he has never had a relationship other then following his 20 year old sister around making sure she is happy all day because OH MY GOD if she cries the world will stop!!!!  Thats right my Step mom and dads when we have a storm that is my fiance running to her side to fix her.   Well Today was HER day yup all day long HER day. I asked to take her to dinner thought it would be nice.  NOPE  She responded, i'd rather it be just you me and my brother.  OHHHHH I see.  I said.  OK Well when it was my 11 year old daughters birthday I would never allow her to dictate that you were not coming aswe live together now and we are making a life together.  So no not nice.  I think any kid can muster up 2 hours to eat a free meal with their parents.  But NOPE I had thought he agreed then the next day he takes a call walks out of the room and they have plans.  YUP she is the dictator.  So shall I call her when I want to hug him kiss him, be intimate.  After all She is the boss of Daddy.

Well Next Month my daughter is turning 16 a big one!!!  OOOPPPS   what if she wants her trip just me and girls???   Well after all i is her day.  Right that is what his daughter got to do.  So what is good for one is good for all.

Am I taking this to far?  Help?

For SD is good for DD.  Take your DD on a trip by yourself and your other DD. And leave SD home.

I understood this post perfectly fine. OP has a Self centered inconsiderate 20 year old SD who thinks the world revolves around her and this behavior is reinforced by DH and SS. SD doesn’t want DD to join them for her birthday dinner and DH just went along with that. Now OP has the opportunity to give SD a taste of her own medicine with DDs up and coming birthday. I honestly would just have a party for DD and her 16 year old school friends and say it’s a friends only party. Not sure why it’s such a big deal since the girls are so far apart in age. Why does a 20 year old care about a 16 year olds birthday party and vice Versa. My DD and skids don’t care about each other’s birthdays and they are all one year apart.

Ignore her birthday and don’t invite them to DDs birthday ever again! That’s what I do and it feels great. Disengage sweetie.
