Update SS21 Drinking

BettyRay's picture

DH spoke with SS21 last night. DH told SS21 that drinking and vomiting at our house will not be tolerated. If SS21 does this he will be kicked out.

SS21 said he understood and that it wouldn't happen at our house.  We'll see.

DH told him that drinking alone is not cool and could be a sign of depression or alcoholism. DH also brought up counseling, SS21 would have nothing to do with it.

SS21's Drinking

So SS21 has been hitting it hard since he turned 21. DH and I didn't really think much about, just thought it was a phase.

DH was talking to BM last night regarding SS16 and she brought up SS21. Apparently SS21 was drinking alone at BM's house (where he is living for the summer) Saturday night. He got sick and threw-up in the hallway between his room and the bathroom and didn't bother to clean it up. When BM questioned him about it SS21 just told her he got up too fast and was dizzy. Don't know if BM addressed the vomit and cleaning up after yourself though.

Closing in on our 10th Wedding Anniversary

I can't believe it's been 10 years! Our anniversary is in a few days.  DH is proud of this milestone, he never made it to his 10th anniversary with BM. He and I keep joking that this is his first-last 10th wedding anniversary.

DH and I are in a good place now, it wasn't always that way, we've worked really hard at our marriage which makes this anniversary special.

The SSons still drive me nuts but at least now DH sees why I'm upset and makes an effort to back me up, the Daddy blinders are gone for now.

Thank You to BM's Husband a.k.a. Awesome SDad!

SS20 was doing his laundry at BM's over the weekend.  His GF was there (aka Sponge Bob).  BM and SDad were in the basement family room and overheard Sponge Bob and SS20.  SS20 had stuffed his dirty clothes into the washer and it was packed tight.  Sponge Bob told SS20 that he needed to take some of the clothes out of the washer or nothing would get clean.  Sponge Bob then made the comment that when they live together she will have to do the laundry.  After SDad heard this he butted in and told her point blank:

Update SS20's Bedroom

So Wednesday night we got home to find SS20 had stopped by and picked his stuff up off the bedroom floor and threw his garbage out.  He didn't vacuum or dust like DH had asked.  Also every surface i.e. desk, nightstands, dresser, was/is cluttered with garbage and junk.

SS16 & SS20 chickens have come home to roost.

Yesterday was a red letter day for DH. He took off work to take SS16 to the orthodontist. SS16’s braces came off about a year ago and his teeth have shifted. BM thought it was because his wisdom teeth were coming in.

I suspected SS16 isn’t wearing his retainers. DH jumped on the wisdom tooth bandwagon when I suggested the possibility that SS16 wasn’t wearing his retainers. I asked SS16 at dinner last week if he has been wearing his retainers every night. He looked me and DH in the eye and said “yes”. So I stepped out of it.

WHY!?!

BettyRay's picture

BM has applied for a job at the company I work for, a different department, but still, why??????

So now I can run into her in the cafeteria, or on my way to a meeting.

I have been enjoying seeing her less and less as the skids get older. Now this.

I have almost 18 years with this company. I don't feel like starting over somewhere else.

WHY? :O :?

SS16 is making Career Plans!

BettyRay's picture

DH got a text yesterday that SS16 had skipped a class. When DH confronted SS16 about it SS16 said he did miss a class but it was because he was attending an informational meeting with the local tech college.

SS16 has decided to enter a dual program (HS/Tech School) because he wants a career in the trades. He has three tracks to choose from: welding, tool & die, and robotics. Hasn't decided which track yet.

SS Proud of SS16

Crying myself to Sleep and other stress releases

BettyRay's picture

Yesterday I cried myself to sleep. I had a horrible day. Work was insane - literally. We have a recently retired employee who is probably in the the early stages of dementia. He called me yesterday (I am the personnel officer for our department) and I had to explain to him that he is retired and his work email has been deactivated and that he no longer can have access to his work files. It was such a draining conversation. So sad. Anyway there was more drama after that but I won't get into it.
