You refer to your SD as a HAG and try to play it off that you're drunk but you're really sober, hahahahahahaha!!!

Wow..lol I thought I was the only one!!! I do everything I can to avoid the skids all weekend by making plans to go shopping, get my hair done, work out, clean etc...then the rest of the time I spend in my bedroom (got myself a tv and pvr for that specific reason). Nice to know I am not the only one!! Smile

It is very common...and I highly recommend sending them away to college...or back to mom...

That was a great day...college move in day...out of state! Sweet relief!

You know that you are a step parent when:

You look in the mirror and see door mat.

You look into your skids eyes and see $ $ in them as they look at their dad.

. . .you have to wash bed linens every single day.

. . .you save on toothpaste, toilet paper, and soap because you and dh are the only ones using it.

. . .the water in the toilet is always yellow.

I want to go out often when the SKIDS come, but often find myself instead "taking possession" of the living room, so that they do not get a chance to.

...when you do a dance every other Sunday around 6pm like it's part of your religion?

I also bring a ton of work home to keep myself busy I refuse to hide in my room or the office...I sit on the couch in the living room to do all my work, which usually leads to SD staying in HER room most of the time...that's right - this is MY house biatch!

When you look at your SO after seeing BM or BD and wonder if your SO was drunk the whole relationship

checkedoutsm's picture

LOL, my DH said he used to be an alcoholic before I met me. I tell him no, he just used to have a reason to drink. (but now I am the one with the reason to drink)

^^^^^^BINGO.
When you suddenly MUST leave the house to go on a solo drive or you will explode into a million pieces.

you dread the weekend following a long work week and would rather work all weekend than be home.
