Let's face it: Mondays are the longest day of the week. I'm feeling blue and blah, so let's have some fun with FAVORITES!!

Spring: the Jam Pot opens!
Summer: the fresh fruit selection
Fall: the smell
Winter: EVERTYHING - cold and snow are my life

Pie: Rhubarb

Food to AVOID: Beef liver

Color of ink for writing: Purple

Flower: Stargazer lilies and carnations

Thing(s) to wear when cold: Finlandia sweatpants, a tank top, a SISU sweatshirt, and fuzzy socks.

Happy Friday, STalkers!! Are you ready for the weekend? I don't know about you, but this has been a sucky week for me and I'm ready to relax. Let's have a little fun!

What is your favorite way to relax?
Buried in a book and enjoying good wine while my DH watches TV.

What is the worst job you’ve had?
Tech Writer/Editor for a digital communication company. I was working 100+ hours a week…and salaried. It affected my health terribly.

What is your screensaver?
Eagle Harbor lighthouse, the harbor, and lots of snow!

An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

It turns out that eating an apple a day really does keep the doctor away - but you have to eat the peel! Ann no fair skipping the apple in favor of megadoses of vitamins in pill form. Apples in their natural state are much better.

Happy Hump Day, STalkers? Why do they call it Hump Day when most people get laid on the weekend? Dirol

I don't know about you, but I'm having the Work Week from HE!!. I drive home thinking about work. I cook dinner thinking about work. I lie in bed, trying to sleep, thinking about work. I DREAM about work. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!

If only there was a dial in my head to go from Work Mode into Home Mode into Sleep Mode (and a much needed Exercise Mode...).

Shoot for the stairs!!

Yes, I meant 'stairs', not 'stars'. Climbing stairs is excellent exercise. You will burn up to 50% more calories climbing stairs at a slow pace that you would walking briskly on level ground.

Climbing stairs immediately raises your heart rate, maximizing your cardio benefits. It is also a great way to increase core muscle strength - glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps, abs, and calves - thus toning your body better. One of the best ways to lose belly fat is to get your legs working!

How's your willpower? Mine sucks something fierce. Unless you want to count my determination to finish that buttered roll, eat the last cookie (the poor cookie can't be alone!), and savor the final hot wing (no hot wing left behind!!!).

I don't know what happened to my willpower. I USED to have some. But like a rock in a stream, it has been slowly eroded by stress, anxiety, and depression. I found comfort in that buttery carb-laden roll, was soothed by that last cookie, eased my sadness with the spicy bite of that hot wing.
