OT - Thankful Thursday

Aniki-Moderator's picture

We've circled back around to Thursday, STalkers!

Some of us have been struggling; depression, finances, seasonal affective disorder, tragedy, stephell... We all have days when it takes great effort to get out of bed and get moving. Some days, that's the best you can do, but you do it! You didn't give up - you pushed yourself to keep pushin' on. And while it's not always easy to see the light at the end of the tunnel, take a moment to reflect on a bright spot in your life. It's there. I promise you. {{{HUGS}}}

I am thankful for:

OT - 'Ween Wednesday

Happy Halloween, STalkers!!!

Did anyone dress up for work? I was going to, but woke up in so much pain I had to spend an extra 20 minutes in the shower to let the hot water help work out some kinks (and I am NOT a fan of hot showers - blech!).

We're having Cube or Treat at work. People with candy have pumpkins on top of their cubes. Evil Aniki brought in some Reese's, Mounds, Butterfingers, Smarties, and Dove Dark chocolate. Nom nom nom...

Will you be handing out candy to the little ghouls and goblins? Or will you be huddled in the dark, watching a scary movie?

OT - Women (and Men!) Wednesday

Can oral health (your teeth!) impact your HEART? Taking care of your teeth is not yet a proven way to prevent heart disease, but many studies have shown a connection between gum disease (periodontitis) and other serious conditions, including heart disease. The common thread between oral and cardiovascular health is inflammation. In gum disease, bacteria clings around the roots of the teeth and irritates the gums. In heart disease and stroke, it's plaque that builds up in arteries, potentially blocking blood flow.

OT - Tone-Up Tuesday

Tuesday has rolled around once again (so predictable!). How goes it, STalkers?

Do you have a favorite meal substitute or something to tide you over between meals?

I prefer protein shakes. My go-to, premade shakes are Atkins Vanilla and Core Power High Protein Vanilla shakes. Those Core Power shakes taste like an actual milkshake! Atkins is a "filler" when I have a long stretch between meals. Core Power is something I will drink for breakfast.

DH - 1; sneaky skids - 0

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Apparently, since DH and I played nice with BioHo at SS19's Army graduation, the kids/skids now seem to think that Mommy and Daddy(stepDaddy) should now be a-okay with doing family acvities together...WITHOUT their spouses. That's right. Aniki and Mr. Pinhead are supposed to stay home so the kids/skids can have family time that they've missed out on for the past 12 years. However, they neglected to okay that with DH and the proverbial shite hit the fan on Saturday.

OT - Eff Off Friday

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Friday at last! It's been....interesting this week. Trying to shoo 'annoying' out the window.

Eff off to:

  • People who think you are too stupid to follow instructions. Hey, poophead! I can do this 53 times and the result is the same: it doesn't work!!!!
  • Cold sores due to stress. My lip looks like I went 4 rounds with Rocky.
  • Skid weekend and I haven't yet made plans to be out of the house. I'm exhausted and those cold sores might not be solely due to stress.
  • A YUGE eff off to my soon-to-be-ex insurance company.

OT - Tone-Up Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, STalkers! It’s that day of the week again…

Are you already enjoying colorful leaves and cooler temps? I am (yippee!!!). Don’t let that stop you from being active outdoors. In fact, get the entire family involved in some alfresco fun!

Buy a Bike

Why it’s good: New models arrive in the stores as the summer riding season wraps up. You’re more likely to get a good deal when stores are trying to get rid of old inventory. Biking as a family is a great way to connect with nature and each other.
