Happy Hump Day, STalkers! I hope your week is better than mine.

We're barely one month into Winter (here) and while I LOVE cold and snow, my skin does NOT. My hands take the brunt of it because I'm forever pulling off a glove in high wind and/or subzero temps to grab something (especially a skinny piece of mail).

My hands are sensitive and there are MANY lotions I cannot use. I finally found something that worked and bought a bunch of it. Lo and behold, when I went to restock, I found that my favorite hand lotion is no longer being produced. DAMM!T!!!

One thing that has made a YUGE difference for me is Sugar Scrub. No, you do NOT eat it to "scrub" out your innards for a colon cleanse. I suppose you COULD eat it, but BLECH!! Some of those essential oils SMELL good, but I'm not about to ingest them!

The nice thing is, you don't have to spend $$$ at the store. You can make sugar scrub at home!

Homemade Sugar Scrub

•1/4 to 1 cup coconut oil
•2 cups sugar
•10-15 drops essential oil (optional)

1. Combine the coconut oil and one cup of the sugar in a bowl and mix until creamy.
2. Add the essential oil while continuing to stir. (You can add food coloring, but it could color your skin!)
3. Add the remaining sugar until the formula reaches the desired consistency.
4. Scrub away and love your super soft skin! Store the remaining scrub in a tightly sealed container for later use.

The best for dry winter hands and feet is Vaseline Problem Skin Therapy unscented in a jar, not the lotion bottle. Its inexpensive and works well. Alternatively for the tops of your hands a drop of Vitamin C&E peptides. But that is expensive and is meant for the face, but works well for anti aging.

Dovina, I'll check that out. I've tried several kinds and am washing it off within minutes. It burns!!

Holy Hand Grenade!!!! I just googled those peptides and about fell out of my chair from sticker shock. Daaaaaaaang!!!!!

That stuff can last forever if you use a drop or two at a time. Trust me you wouldn't want to accidently spill it. That's money down the drain.

I'd bawl like a 3yo who dropped her ice cream in a fresh pile of doggie doo!

Ugh the winter is the worst. I have poor skin on the best of days but in the winter I will crack and bleed and fall apart, it actually gets pretty painful. But yeah when it gets really bad I slather my body in Vaseline .... my skin will soak it up in a minute but ive found it to be the only thing that gives me a little relief. BS2 seems to have my skin as well but not as severe so I'll rub Vaseline on his bad patches as well.
I will be trying that recipe though when my skins in a little better shape, the thought of exfoliating right now brings tears to my eyes haha but I do like the sounds of nice smooth yummy smelling skin so thank you for posting!

My DH has sensitive and very dry skin. His dermatologist recommended Cera-ve. A little dab goes a long way, and it's pricey, but it works.

I use that on my face and hands before going to bed. It is good stuff and does last a long time.

oh dear,

ladies Ladies Ladies,,, ever heard of Speensalf?

It's the ointment they use on milking cows titties..... available at any place selling things for cattle, works wonders for winter hands and skin.
Also baby bum creams helps allot, it's the zinc in it.
