And just like that...

I have been separated and divorced from my ex for 20 yr and 5 mths. In that time I recovered from his shock walkout, remarried and moved to the USA. My 4 kids are aged between 37 & 28. Yesterday after a series of weird but troubling facebook posts, texts and messages and police involvement he was founf dead as the result of a gunshot wound.

o/t: Date Night

Date Night is not taking your wife to the gun range and spending 3 hrs there when you only went to your gun league there tonight and you haven't taken said wife to a movie in about 3 yrs. Just putting it out there for the Universe to kick around or something. Not to mention our pup (14 wks) needs surgery tomorrow and I am not leaving her home alone tomorrow night for ANYTHING! If he gets any more 'romantic' I think my eyes will get stuck in the back of my head.

Facebook Declaration

This week my YSS/23 reposted this message:
"There are some great kids who have a step parent who stepped in, stepped up and gave a shit."
This is the same kid who came over and did an awesome job mowing our front and back lawns. OK DH gave him $30 but still. He mowed before receiving the money. It was nice to come home to see that nice tidy lawn.

There is hope for them.

OK my life just gor REALLY weird

My ex lives in Australia. We get along OK. I have remarried, he has remarried. It works.
My son was over for dinner tonight with my DD, SIL, YSS and DH. DS gets a call from his best friend. His car has broken down. All the guys head out to help his friend. They are all car guys.
1.5 hrs later they come back. With someone else. Yes, my EX has turned up to visit for 2 weeks. He is staying with my DS. OK. I can deal with this. Except EX and DH are getting along like besties. DH is taking EX to the range with his assortment of fire arms for some practice on Thursday.

Thanksgiving etc...

Once when I was at one of my ssons church events I was reading the 'get to know your fellow church members" folder. DH was talking to friends, no one talked to me so I read up about these people. BM stated her favourite holiday is T/Giving. So as this isn't my holiday (New Zealand doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving which surprises a lot more Americans that you would think!)So I thought ...meh, she can have T/Giving. And so it has been every single year for 10 yrs. The boys decide to go to their mothers and see their grandmother etc... Hey, I can be a nice person.
