OT - Would you pay for this?

Doorsy's picture

So on Monday my dd was told by her section leader in band to take the rack ( like a big heavy cart) back to the band room from the field. It's uphill. It takes 2 and sometimes 3 people to push it up and its usually the guys doing it. Dd asked if she should wait for help and her section leader (an upper classman who is in charge) said no just do it so we can go to lunch. Halfway up the hill she looses control of it and it flies down by itself and hits a car. It scratched and put a small dent in the car. Band teacher is pissed and makes a report but car owner brushes him off.

How do I find a post about a vacation someone took to the Fl springs? Need help on Gluten Free foods

Doorsy's picture

After reading it I decided to rent a rv and we are taking the kids to experience the springs at the end of July. I had some questions to the person who was talking about it. Dhs oldest dd has a gluten allergy so I need to have all gluten free meals. Can anyone post recipes they know taste good and what bread to buy? I've tried pintrist but some of that stuff is yuck. We don't see her very often since she got her license so I don't know how to cook for her. I'll have a portable oven I can cook chicken in but not bake stuff.

Funny or sad examples of how our parents parented

I was reading the Emergency room visit blog and thinking back about our emergency this weekend when dd dropped her glass and sd slipped in the mess (almost instantly she fell. The glass had broke and she instantly slipped) and fell on the glass slicing her leg open. I took one look and threw a towel at her and rushed her to urgent care. Urgent care has a copay of $35 while our ER copay is $250. I called dh and bm both telling them she slipped and cut her leg open and I was taking her to urgent care. DH was doing a favor for my dad so sd 14 was with me.

Weight loss

Doorsy's picture

Who wants to start a weight loss group? I've been doing so well that I am now down 15 pounds and a pants size from exercising and weight watchers. I am so proud of me. DH has lost 10 pounds and is keeping me motivated. Who needs a weightloss buddy?

Using all his vacation time

I am really frustrated with my dh right now. Both our girls are going into high school next year which is huge for them and both the middle schools celebrate it bigley. They both go on the 8th grade trip out of town for 3 days, they have awards ceremonies, they have lunch with the grads, they have the walk over and they have the water day/bounce house day. These are all on separate days at sds school. At dd's school they tried to compress the activities into fewer days. I have lots of vacation through work and dh does not. He has 5 days since he is new to this company.

OT - Can someone explain to me how to do weight watchers

Doorsy's picture

So in order to lose my "fluff" as I've taken to calling it, I gots me a fitbit and I joined weight watchers. I had my first meeting today. I downloaded the app and went on the computer to look at the website. FRUSTRATED is all I can say!! I linked my fitbit to it, I added what I ate today but no where did I see a list of foods that are free or don't count. Also, if i make lasagna for dinner tonight how can I add that? I had tuna, mayo, lettuce and pickle for lunch and had to enter each in individually. DO I just add things individually?

Update to chest pain

Doorsy's picture

I took your guys advice and I sucked it up and scheduled a drs appointment. I went in yesterday for a physical. They took urine and lots of blood. The girl was not gentle with her stick either, F@cking nurse!!! They went over my history and for the last year and did an EKG. Dr came in and we talked, I got a 10 minute lecture on my weight. She listened to me breathe and felt on my chest and stomach. My blood pressure was something like 120/70 i can't remember but I know it was 120 something over 70 something. Dr said it was normal. She checked my teeth???

I'm having chest pain

Doorsy's picture

I'm 39 and 270 pounds so I am a big girl but I am healthy. I take no meds and my blood pressure is always great. Lately I have been having a feeling of discomfort below my left shoulder on my chest area. It comes and go and is never painful. The last few days I have been having sharp pain there to. Like stabs and then it is gone. Dh and I are trying to lose weight so we have been exercising. We are so active both my arms hurt to move them. Like they are weak hurt! We have been walking, jogging, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and more.

Tired of dh and his tit for tat bull crap!

Last night I asked dd and sd to get me coat hangers from their rooms as I needed to hang up some clothes I had just finished. DD brought me about 10 and sd never moved. When those 10 were gone I asked sd to go get me some from her room and she said she didn't have any. So I decided to go in there and get them myself. I told her that I was going to ground her a day for each coat hanger. She had 14 so I told her she was grounded for 14 days. Dh says nothing and then gets up and leaves, he comes back with 63 coat hangers from dd's room and told her she was grounded for 63 days.

How do we handle the car?

Doorsy's picture

Dh has 50/50 of his oldest dd who turns 16 next week. Dh wants to buy her a car for her birthday. She isn't a bad kid and she will have to get a job for insurance and gas. He is thinking $3500 max and he has found a few for her. The problem is she will want to take it to bms on her weeks. I know bm will drive it so I don't want that and neither does dh. He wants her to keep it here while at her moms.
