WWYD- CS Review

Writing as a BM...

It's been 6+ years since CS order was established between Ex and I. At the time he was working an office job and I was making a lot less $ then I am now. Order monthly amount was $300.

OT: DNA Testing/Family Tree

zerostepdrama's picture

Can anyone recommend a good DNA,Family Tree kit?

DH does not know who his biological father is. There was a man who supposedly was his bio father but a DNA test was done when DH turned 18 and he said all he remembers of it is the man calling him and telling him he is not his kid and hanging up.

DH's mom was a lady of the streets to put it kindly. She had DH when she was 16, pregnant at 15 and was the black sheep of her family. DH has 5 siblings and my guess is that none of them have the same father and will never know who their father is.

Marriage Advice

DH and I have been having a rough 6 months or so. I need to find the best way to bring up the issues and get him to listen. When I try to talk to DH about how I am feeling he just hears nagging.

In the past I would write letters, long texts and try to talk to him and really press for communication. Over time I realized I only end up frustrated by the lack of response I get from him so I just tend to not address issues with him because I feel it's pointless.

I am very independent and very busy so we both have no problem ignoring each other for days.

What should all kids coming into adulthood know?

zerostepdrama's picture

What are the important things that you think that kids should know to make them responsible and successful adults?

What can we start teaching them NOW to ensure that when they are about to fly they coop they can and will and they will be successful.

Advice, wisdom, actual things they should learn and know, etc.

OT: Festive drinks for Christmas party

zerostepdrama's picture

Anyone have any good recipes for festive drinks? I am hosting an adult Christmas party and am looking to make 1 or 2 festive drinks. I would also like to make them LOOK festive as well so any help in the garnish department is appreciated.

I usually drink Coors Light, Fireball, Tequila and occasionally wine so I'm pretty simple when it comes to drinks.

Thanks!

Things that were said that you should have picked up on.

Are there any statements that your SO said, or even the skids that you now think back on and think I really should have paid more attention to those statements? }:)

Ya know how one thing reminds you of something that reminds you of something else and so on. Just got me thinking about some things that have been said over the course of almost 7 year with DH that at the time didn't seem like anything but now I'm like...hmmmm... makes total sense now.

Interesting CS order

My male cousin and his wife are going through a divorce. He fought her for 50/50 of the kids. She was ordered to pay HIM CS.

This isn't a debate on if CS should be ordered for 50/50. Just thought it was interesting considering it's usually the man that is ordered to pay the CS.

She does have A LOT better job then him. She is a little older and was more established when they got married. She claims he is under employed (which I may agree with her on this).
