CPS just called us. They asked if we had SD. We answered yes and they asked if we were willing to take in SD. Yes. They are investigating BM for child abuse or neglect. The caseworker is coming to investigate our house tomorrow.
I sense a long night...

ETA: Baby was transferred to Major Children's Hospital. Bleeding between scalp and skull. May require surgery. Pray pray pray.

This is good, though. If BM is willing and able to hurt an infant, she is willing to hurt SD3. I am glad they are taking this seriously. I was just talking to my husband about this, and he said there was no way an 11 day old gets a skull fracture by being dropped by a 3 yo. He has 4 kids, plus he has raised two step kids, so I give him credit for knowing children. How is SD3 doing? Is she ok? Have y'all talked to her yet?

Yes!!^^^ I thought the same thing! There is No way that baby would get a skull fracture ...3 y old is not very tall and babies are tough...I don't know, was it a Concrete floor or something? I doubt it. This woman is Crazy! So glad CPS got involved! And good that SD has you guys...

SD is doing good. I played some games with her. When I asked what had happened she said that she was watching Mickey Mouse Christmas. When I asked her how the baby got hurt, she would just say owies. I asked who gave the baby the owies and she said Red. I have no idea who or what "Red" is.

According to BM (and, apparently, GBM according to B (BM's brother)) SD walked into the kitchen carrying the baby. GBM turned, saw her, and asked her what she was doing. SD thought she was in trouble, threw the baby, and ran. Baby hit head first onto the linoleum floor.

I'm having trouble believing it. SD is BIG (think 6 year old) and strong, but to cause a skull fracture? In a newborn?

Needless to say, I'm suspicious.
