How do you like that SD? LOL

SD hasn't been to visit for a few weeks after the "towel bar incident". I won't get into it but it's in my last blog.
DH and I were sure she'd be coming this weekend as she likes candy and presents (who doesn't?).

To give a short summary.....
We moved into our house 14 months ago. The downstairs wasn't completed and friends of DH, my parents and I put in 3 bedrooms for the older kids and a playroom. BD(1) has a bedroom upstairs with us. There is also a bathroom downstairs by their rooms and it turned out really nice. Their floors are click flooring (laminate) and turned out awesome (I picked out a light oak for all three bedrooms).

OK, on with the story. Whenever SD gets angry with me she will move her bad and wardrobe around. These are very heavy and put fine scratches in the floor. I have asked her multiple times to tell me when she wants things moved and I will help so she's not dragging them across the floor. The last weekend she was there she was in a terrible mood and moved her room around just before she left. I told DH that there were in fact more scratches on the new floor. DH said "you're going to have to nail them down or something, haha."

I did. I got a 2x4 out of the garage and screwed it into the studs, I then removed the matress and pushed the wooden frame of the bed up against the stud. I screwed it into place and then tried to move the bed, that bed is not going anywhere!

I sat back on friday evening when she arrived and waited for the sparks to fly, I didn't have to wait long. She went down and came back up in less than 5 minutes. She said "That is my room and I can do whatever I want to it, I am going to puke, I don't like it and I won't sleep in there until the bed is moved." She said to DH "Daddy what are you going to do about that?" he just looked at her and said "If you won't sleep in the bed you can sleep on the floor." She was so mad, she thought he'd tell me I had to undo it or something, LOL.

She bitched and complained about it all weekend so I'm sure BM will give us a talking to very shortly. As I said to DH she wasn't "going to puke" because her bed was screwed to the wall, it was because she's realized that her father and I are done with her bull shit and she can't get away with her foolish games anymore.

Other than that, I had a great weekend. Happy Easter everyone!

Oh, for those of you that read this and are asking yourself why DH didn't do anything about the bed, he can't get downstairs yet. We are looking for a stair lift for him. He is in a wheelchair so that is why I have to deal with all the "downstairs bullshit", for now, lol.

I would have nailed the bed to the wall and anything else I could think of.. You had already told her not to move the furniture around without your help as it scratches the floor.. Good for your DH, I love his answer to her... Skids are hard even harder if they don't respect you... Even harder than that if our DH's don't back up us when we are right... GOOD FOR YOU...

Way to take a some respect back! I so agree with that and there's nothing saying that you have to "listen" to the BM when she tries to talk.
Good for you!

Way to go! That is awesome! I will have to remember that. Children, step or not, need to know that they are not in charge, the parents are. And in your house, you are a parent. Don't take anymore crap from her and show her her rightful place in the hierarchy of the household. Keep it up!

May those that love us, love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping.

HAHAHAHA... I love it! I will have to remember that one. We have the same flooring in the downstairs, and in one bedroom. SS's bedroom right now, and he hasn't attempted to move anything, I think 6 year boys could care less, as long as their toys are there! But that is a Great Idea!

I'm still laughing! What a great solution!!! I probably would have been a little evil when she complained about it and said it was either nailing the bed down or nailing your ass to the wall, which would you prefer my dear? Great post!

This made me giggle uncontrollably!

Thanks for your comments everyone. I was giggling to myself as I was putting the screws into the wall. DH thought it was funny too but he knew there would be hell to pay when she realized what I had done. He's finally starting putting me first and I love it!
