I'm Absolutely IN LOVE with His Kids!!

Says my friend Ann, who has now been with her boyfriend a whole three months.

"We're really gelling as a family," she says to me last night over sangria. "I mean, I LOVE these kids SO much. They want to be around me all the time, they're SO CUUUUTE! I'm going to Kid8's soccer game this Saturday and I'm meeting BM!"

The Perils of Ann- Part Two

GhostWhoCooksDinner's picture

A while back, I posted about my friend Ann, who was getting hot and heavy with her new hunk, Tom. If you recall, Ann has been divorced about 8 years and has a 9 year old son. Hunka Hunka (Tom) has two kids, a 9 year old girl and 7 year old boy. Ann has her son FT, and Tom gets his kids week on/week off.

Anyway, Ann and Tom are now "super serious" at NINE whole weeks into the relationship. Oh yes. Ann wants to hear NOTHING about the blended family life from myself or other friends who have BTDT. Why?

Some Thoughts on a Failed Blended Family

As the new year has gotten underway, I've been doing a lot of thinking about where I am , where I'm going, and where I've been. For pensive, sensitive souls like me, that can sometimes lead to melancholy. That's where I am this morning- in a mire of melancholy and feeling sorry for myself. I know it'll pass, but I thought I'd share some thoughts on here, get them out of head (hopefully).

Pop Some Popcorn, Sit Back, and Watch the Train Wreck

I haven't posted in a while, but this is what it feels like I'm doing right now. I have a dear friend who's stepping into a shit storm, and there's nothing I can say that will make any difference.

My friend (I'll call her Ann)has been divorced for 8 years and has a 9-year-old son, Chris. She's dated quite a bit this past year, but nothing's worked out. In the past month or so, she's met and gotten to know a guy named "Tom." Tom has a 9-year-old daughter Mary and a 7-year-old son Luke.

Father's Day

It sucks.

When you have kids who are PASed, it's a painful day. You know you won't be acknowledged. You know your phone calls won't be accepted.

But you can be damn sure BM's hubby or flavor of the month will get gifts and be honored by the skids as "the best dad ever."

Father's Day bites. I just want it to be over with. I plan to keep DH busy to help keep his mind off of the two kids he's lost.

The Aftermath of PAS

I was watching a movie I love the other night, "Dark Skies." For those who don't know, it's about a family that was unknowingly stalked by aliens for a number of years. By the time signs start showing (strange marks on the kids, sleepwalking, weird things happening in the house), it's too late. Alien abduction is imminent and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it.

CPS Report Unfounded- So BM and SS16 Can Stuff It! (Part One)

GhostWhoCooksDinner's picture

I'm going to make this post a two-parter because it's long.

Well, we finally got written confirmation yesterday that the CPS investigation against DH and I, initiated by BM and SSociopath16, is unfounded. We knew it would be, obviously, but it's nice to have it confirmed. It only took five months, for crying out loud. Not that that surprised me either.
