OT: My MIL Is A Crazy ExWife (Who Decides Where A Parent Is Entombed?)

not2sureimsaneanymore's picture

MIL has been talking about her will recently to DH, and one of the things she mentioned is that she expects to be buried on top of DH's dad because it's a 2 grave plot. DH's dad passed away in 2009 and is in his family's plot--it has his parents, and one 2 grave plot for each of the sons (4 sons total) and their wives.

Changing Jobs, Automatic CS Paycheck Deductions ???

So DH is going to apply for a new job in the same overall state university system but at a different location. He will most likely get and take this job. Pay is only slightly higher (like $500 a year lol) but saves him 2 hours of travel (and obviously gas) every DAY because it's now less than 5 miles from us. His CS is taken out from his paycheck automatically every two weeks and given to the state agency which then cuts BM her check (she's on state welfare because she chases her dreams of the circus life--not joking) so I think that's why it's automatic.

What Would You Do?

...with souvenirs MIL brings back from her trips to BMTown?

We've been doing so well with low MIL contact but you literally can't give an inch to her or she'd jump on it like a flea on a dog. We invited DH's family over for Christmas and then went to MIL's house the next day for a brief visit to let her spend some time with DD1 and DD2--most visits are now supervised because of her behavior.

OT: Anyone Suddenly Develop A Penicillin Allergy?

So I had been meaning to get back here but following BD2's birth almost 2 weeks ago has been a rollercoaster of medical insanity.

I had a scheduled c-section (my OBGYN group really wanted me to try a VBAC but I wanted my tubes tied as well--I'm done. Caput. No more newborns for me, thanks. If I really, really want another one, I'll do IVF since in the words of my OB, "The IVF people don't want your tubes." DH and I have also been talking about possibly becoming foster parents in the future when the DDs are older.)

BIL's Wife Thinks MIL Has Depression. Now I Feel Bad. etc.

And BM and SS will be back in the states from their year-long trip to the UK the end of this month.

But before we get to that: BIL and his wife came over to visit the new baby yesterday and we talked about some things regarding MIL (mostly, BIL's wife wanted to get a feel of how much we trust MIL with their children since they're going to start trying this month.)

We told them they have to set boundaries early and not like us--we fumbled and dropped the ball in regards to MIL because we thought she'd be less entitled or at least reasonable.

Pissed at DH Because MIL Shows Up at Hospital Unannounced

Had the C-section for BD2 on Wednesday, everything went well. Blobby red potato is the best description I have for her and BD1 is absolutely smitten with her little sister (keeps telling everyone it's HER baby, wanting to feed, hold, kiss, and comfort when the baby cries) and I am so happy because I was worried about jealousy issues but she really stepped up. Probably won't last long though.

DH is doing really good as far as taking care of BD1 while I'm in the hospital, and caring for BD2 when he's here.

Blocked MIL On My Cell

Thank you to everyone (Echo, Sally, Goodluck, clevergirl--you guys are the bomb) who responded to my post! It gave me the courage to do what I kind of knew had to be done.

Lol and then it not 12 hours later, it all comes to a head when DH gets a call from MIL. (I need a nickname for her.)

If MIL Calls Me One More Time, I'm Going To Effing Lose My Mind

not2sureimsaneanymore's picture

MIL has started bypassing DH again and calling and leaving messaged for me directly. This is absolutely on me, because I JUST realized this past week, with the help of our marriage counselor, that it's because she realizes every time she calls me, I tell DH to deal with it and DH calls her, which is what she REALLY wants. If she just calls DH, he ignores it. So from now on I'm only going to mention it but no longer ask DH to "deal with it."

Yes Crazy MIL, Please Give Us Chicken Pox

My MIL is crazy, we all know that but weird, it's like crazy MIL season over here.

So DH and I took an overnight trip with BD to another state due to him having to take a proctored final exam for one of his master's courses. MIL didn't know about this trip (I mean, it's overnight, and we don't tell our parents every little thing that goes on in our life.)
