DH has FIVE kids - three w/his ex-wife and two w/the woman he had an affair with during their marriage. It's a whole Jerry Springer sort of family from his grandparents to his kids. I have no kids of my own yet (we lost our first) and come from an intact family - my parents are best friends and have been married over 40 years. I admit from the get-go that I have no concept of "blending" a family.

I'm ready to divorce this man who, other than all these kids, is really the love of my life because I HATE being second fiddle. He's told me our marriage isn't worth giving up the non-existent relationship he has with his kids (hasn't seen most of them in 6 years, just continual phone calls & emails from their mother). I guess that's my cue to exit the marriage... isn't it? Sometimes I really wish he could forget about them all together (he's 90% there now) and get on with his life, even though I know most people think that sounds sick and cruel.
