Teenage Stepchildren

I am new here, but I come to you needing advice. I'm totally thrown for a loop on this one. Here's a brief overview of our family situation. DH has one teenage son from his first marriage.

DH got a call from his son asking to come stay the night at our house.

Sorry if this topic has already been discussed. I normally visit the other threads as SS is not yet a teenager.

Have you ever just said what you think or feel to your Skid(s), even if it may be hurtful?

I'm new here, and hope to find some comfort, understanding, and direction on this topic.

so sd16 sent a text to dh saying he had no choice but to pay for private college...euhhh???

I am new to this site and don't now how to start. Has anyone had to deal with Step-sibling rivalry for YEARS at a time? My husband and I have been married for almost 12 years.

Long story short.....BM has diagnosed mental disorders, lost custody of 2 of 3 kids including my 17 year old SD due to overdoses, 5+ suicide attempts.

I'm in need of advice because I feel like I'm all alone. My step-son does not listen to me. Every time I ask him to do something he has an attitude but he listens to his dad just fine.

So I am only good enough when they want something! I don't think so.........
