For the past four years I have "ghost written" the skid's schools on behalf of BF to get school info, school calendars, etc.
I have decided I'm not going to do it this year unless BF specifically asks me to. The reason being is I go through all this trouble and in the end, I am the "bad guy" who "has a problem with his kids."
So I'm going to order myself a nice farmer's almanac calendar as I am in to gardening, and let the chips fall where they may.
The BM has the school district so far up her, well, you know, that it really is a losing battle. It is her hometown school district and her hometown to begin with. She is well known and loved in her little community as she and the skids are involved in every activity under the sun just for "valuable face time."
The school district even told BF that his opinion as to whether or not to get SD tested for disabilities (there were none) didn't count (even though they have joint custody on paper) b/c the BM was the CP.
Usually the teachers that are "friends" with the BM start sending info on my request, but then, shortly thereafter, stop sending it, most likely on the say so of BM as she wants to be the "control center" as some other poster brought out.
So I don't think I will put in the effort this year as anything I do is seldom if ever appreciated.
P.S.
As of this writing we have received not one bit of school info for any of the three skids and I don't think we will.

that your BF knows your not going to do it anymore, or he might try to blame you for him not getting the info since you've been doing it for him.

I think I will approach it only if he brings the subject up. Then I will say "ok, so it's fine if I write the schools?" Because he has told me just recently not to get involved with ANYTHING to do with parenting his skids and to never offer an opinion unless asked for it. And then said opinion has to be nothing but positive; I am not to bring out any faults of the children or the way he his handling things with the BM.

I am exactly in the same place as you. Until last June, I took care of everything on behalf of BF when it came to his children's school and other activities. This school year I AM DONE. What I do it's not appreciated and in the end I am the bad one. Hugs to you.

Girl - forget the glasses that man needs a seeing eye dog to get him through life cuz girl he just ain't getting it. I wouldn't say anything either unless he brings it up. Then be like oh I believe we had that discussion were you told me all parenting issues were to be strictly decided by you and I was to not touch that with a ten foot pole. And SMILE! Also when you go buy that Almanac get him the Dummies guide to parenting! LOL!

Since he gets MEGA offended if I make any comment or opinion on HIS kids!!! He can sit and complain all day and I'm supposed to be sympathetic or as he says "be there for him."
He is the first to see the "silver lining" in the skids; he convinces himself that SD is working hard on the football team and all three are doing MUCH better in school, blah blah (how would he know? he only has 2nd hand so called info from the BM and skids?)
When we were getting report cards, BF often caught skids by surprise saying "i see you got a bad grade in math, etc." BM was hiding this info from BF and of course the skids didn't want him to know.
Now with me not sending for school info, BF can live in his fantasy world where he doesn't need to know about grades and can fool himself into thinking the skids are on their way to success!
On the OTHER HAND, BF is the FIRST to offer solutions when I have issues at work, etc. Typical "guy" reaction; offer no sympathy just a statement of "pee or get off the pot"/knee jerk reaction solutions in 30 seconds or less.
I swear these DH/BF's turn into WOMEN when it comes to the BM and skids. He needs to subscribe to WHIPPED magazine (google it)
