A short vent: DH has a training on Sunday so he just told me I get to spend the day with SD8. I suggested that it would be nice if he at least asked me in case I had plans or something, to which he replied that he was very concerned that I would expect him to ask me to look after my own child. I love it when he tosses out that little gem - I wonder how often he's said that to BM since SD is actually hers and she doesn't do a damn thing.
Of course, when DH & I disagree, like on whether SD is old enough to have a TV in her room (NO) or whether we should spend $400 on a Wii system for SD's b-day when clearly DH is buying it for himself b/c he blew all his fun money for the year on a big purchase in January (NO again), all of the sudden DH is the parent and I am merely a hanger on whose opinion does not matter.
I guess actually my opinion doesn't matter either way - at least he's consistent with his double-standards!

See that's where I would say ...
"Ummm, I think you may have mistaken me for -BM-. Gee, and we don't look at all alike!" LOL
Why doesn't he ask BM if he can switch days, so that he (and BD) can have the full benefit of the visitation that is truly for the purpose of giving him quality time with BD? That's what my ex and I do when either of us has a conflict - we offer the time back to the other parent (sometimes in exchange for another day, if that's possible). If the other parent has made plans, then my DH is glad to step in (or my dad or sister, on occasion). The ex and I have an agreement to always ask the other parent FIRST -- before asking someone else to "babysit" (even if that someone else is the step parent).
Got one for you
Skids came in one day after a visit with BM all excited to say "BM said she will babysit if ever you need her to." After the record scratched I asked "Is it babysitting when they are your kids?" I guess it actually is since I am the one doing the mothering, so the only position available to her is to babysit. HAHAHAHA.

I actually heard
the record. It really takes a lot of nerve.

I have a big problem with your DH. When did SD become your child? How did he transfer the DNA from BM to you? I gotta know! Seriously, you are going to have to set a limit with DH on this issue, it obviously upsets you that he does this. This is a guilt tactic he is trying to use on you so you will do his bidding. It's total BS! I don't know what to tell you to do but I am so pissed for you.
