My Posts

how do I get my post not to show the whole thing on the main page? I do not mean for that to happen. Sorry yall!

You know,...

I rarely even look at the main page anyway, so I never noticed. I usually go right to recent posts, or my recent posts, so I can see new messages on my posts, those of my friends, or follow up on replies on posts I've replied to myself.

So I wouldn't worry about it!

Write in paragraphs

The front page will show roughly the first paragraph of your blog entry. If the first paragraph is short it may choose to show the second paragraph as well. If you don't use paragraphs it doesn't know where to stop showing your content and therefore it can end up showing most, if not all, of your blog entry.

If you use paragraphs when typing your blog entry it will never show the entire entry on the page.

Oh- good idea.

I think it helps to read and understand the longer posts too.

And while we're at it....

Can we request people use punctuation (at least periods?) I tried to read some posts in the past that had no periods, and my brain just couldn't make sense of what they were posting. Just a suggestion if someone does that and doesn't get many responses, it may be that we couldn't make it out.

RE:

I know exactly what you mean! If I'm trying to read something and it's too difficult for me to discern what is being said, I just stop reading.

Personally I love proper punctuation,

capitalization, spelling etc... in posts.

I understand sometimes we get emotionally overwrought and when I surf this (and it's not as often as it used to be) I try to read as many posts as possible because it often is a crisis situation that begs for help. But it's harder to give it when it's hard to read.
