Got Laid Off Friday-Company wide Lay off

So can't really blog anymore as my access to citrix is gone and I don't want to use my home laptop for fear of BF catching on and reading my vents about his little "angels"

I'm actually writing from a home customer's computer that I'm cleaning for massive doses of spyware!

I did have a very promising interview this past monday and a 2nd interview w/ same this friday.

Maybe now that my "breadwinner" salary is "poof" BF will step up. He is already starting to work overtime, but I think it's a reality check for him as he obviously could NOT support himself after CS is taken out!

I'm so sorry to hear. If you do computer work, is it possible to start your own side business doing this? Who knows? Maybe this lay off will be a catalyst For "Crayon's Computer Clean-Up"!

Please drop in when you can and let us know how you are. I erase all my history every time I get off the computer. It's not really for DH because he already knows most of what I post. But I don't want my kids to find this, it would be hurtful to SD who would never understand why I feel the way I do.

Home computer

I'm like Sita Tara, I clean my history and cookies after I get off the computer. I also us a screen name here he wouldn't think of and a password he would never figure out.

He's actually know I'm on this website but after the hell he and his kids have caused me. I really don't give a damn! As for the girls... they aren't aloud near my computer!

Library

You can always have internet access at the library.

Maybe you should take it easy for a while... collect unemployment benefits... let him carry the load. It might be a good reality check for him.

computer clean up

and erase cookies, use a user name that he or they wont figure out. I know for me i write my blogs as if i were talking to him. I feel that there is nothing i am saying that i would not want him to hear. Good luck job hunting!! YOu sound like an intelligent woman and any company would be lucky to have you!!

im sorry about ur lay-off...look how selfish i was, thinking only of how much i will miss crayon!
our company did a MASSIVE "displacement" after we "merged" but really got bought out by wachovia...my FH actually moved from one dept he was working in for 20 yrs to a completely new area. AND they forced him into it and he couldnt collect what wouldve been a massive severance...big business sucks anymore Sad

Deleting the history, cookies etc

DOES NOT remove your browsing history! As a computer technician (and my BF was one once also; that's the reason for caution on my part) you can go to legacy keys in the registry and completely unearth any and all web surfing done on that pc;

And of course my BF can instantly detect when the history, etc has been deleted!

I have done side jobs for a lot of years; problem is there are so many of us you can throw a rock and hit 20 immediately AND today's home pc industry is more disposable and less "repair oriented"

btw even if you wipe your hard drive you STILL 90% of the time can recover data that you thought was lost!

Since he's a computer whiz. I am lucky that my DH isn't at all worried or interested in what I write here. Unless I share with him. I even told him about the time I vented about him (saying he was taking SD to a company outing without asking me first.) Later that same day I told him how I felt and he instantly said, "WONDERFUL! I didn't think you would want to go to a small town car race. Absolutely we will go instead. I would MUCH RATHER take YOU!!!!" I believe I got back onto to ST and wrote the heading "I'm a schmuck" on that post. I am very blessed by a man who really wants to see me happy and if this posts helps me deal with his daughter (mostly, but also my son occasionally) then he sees it as my business. We also know each other's email passwords. I think the trust there, is amazing. He knows for instance that the man I had an affair with (before I met DH and was still single- the man was married) is still my friend (cyber only- I would never see him or talk on the phone unless something catastrophic happened to him) We still email and DH has never to my knowledge read any of them. THAT's trust even more than ST stuff.

I'm sorry it has to be that way for you. Would have been that way with my exH likely too.

And by the way...this is bad, but I've checked his emails before, mostly when we first met. Having dated a married man before I had my own trust issues. But he knew I had access and there was never anything suspicious so I stopped.

I think just knowing we could see anything if there was anything to be seen, as well as not worrying about the other one trying to snoop, is a good thing in a marriage.

Crayon, Go to the public library and use THEIR computers!!!! That is free!!!!

Wow, he is going to realize just how much you support him now. Guess the little piggies wont be getting ANYTHING and nothing FUN will be going on while you are unemployed.

I am so sorry to hear about your job. I will pray that you find something real soon, and close to your home, and way more than you were making at the last job!

when it comes to the skids, BF is VERY, SUPER sensitive (and the BM) so I'm ALWAYS the bad guy on that subject!

not only will u probably find a better job, but w/o ur income the skids wont want to come over if theres not an abundance of snacks and fun stuff to do! PLUS, now u have even more time to make homemade meatloaf!!! Smiling lol!

I used to have a little sign on my computer that read "Personal Computers are just that...PERSONAL. Kindly leave mine alone" Lucky for me the rest in my household are not as computer literate as I am and we have 3. One that is mine alone, one I use for work and one for the kids homework.

Girl that is my worst fear. I am so sorry!!!! I really feel for you!!!

I hope this is a wake up call for your BF. He needs to get off his ass and earn more money or start fighting back at BM. I guess there will be no money for junk for for the brats huh????
