Note to SELF - this life is hell. I am not a saint UPDATE

So had another chat with DH and this is what I get:

1. He doesn't want to make waves with BM because BM's dad has very powerful lawyer friends who can make our life a living hell if he tries to do anything she doesn't want. He thinks he can make waves with her only after his legal obligation is over and they both are over 18, FIVE more years!

and

2. DH WANTS to be available to BM 24/7 in order to do his duty and be a father to the kids. So if she calls him at midnight for "normal everyday problems", he's cool with that since in his mind it is about the kids. He WANTS to help discipline the kids in HER house.

3. He wants me to believe that he doesn't care about BM but he wants to be on great terms with her so that he and she can parent the kids in her house.

UPDATE

Doesn't he sound like ex-husband of the year? I mean, sounds like he wins the Divorced Dad trophy!

So maybe if we get divorced it won't be half bad? Hmmmmm...

Then he should have stayed

Then he should have stayed with BM. In fact, I think I'd have to make it possible for him to actually be with her 24/7.

Oh sweet leaping Jesus!!! I

Oh sweet leaping Jesus!!! I get so sick of that "very powerful attorney" crap!!! Let me clue you in - I am an attorney and there is precisely NOTHING we can do to harm people who have not done anything wrong. NOTHING. If we start frivolous civil suits without a basis in fact, we look ridiculous, lose credibility in front of the judges and our peers and can be disbarred. If we even THINK about trying to influence a judge, we can be disbarred. If a judge show favoritism to an attorney or family member of an attorney, he can be thrown off the bench and then disbarred. All it takes is a call to the Disciplinary Board in the state where the attorney or judge practices with a reasonably credible complaint and all hell breaks loose.

Attorneys have more ethical obligations than you can shake a stick at. We have a written Canon of Ethics that MUST be adhered to. Yes - there are crooked lawyers. And they get sanctioned or disbarred!!! The "he knows powerful attorneys" thing is a myth told to keep people afraid and under control. If your DH genuinely wants to be controlled then that is another thing altogether. But please know that this "powerful attorney" thing is CRAP and is a source of real frustration to attorneys who take their work and ethics seriously.

Since he's so good at being

Since he's so good at being supportive to his ex-wife, maybe he needs another one. Evil
